Dear Melissa,

I saw your information regarding Aaron KINNEY on the KINNEY list.  I am extremely interested in your Kinneys.

I am researching Kinneys in Van Buren and Kalamazoo Counties.  Specifically the family of Elijah KINNEY, b. Huron Co., Ohio.  Elijah and several of his brothers settled in Van Buren Co., on the county line with Kalamazoo in the 1830s.  It appears from records in those counties that nephews, cousins, etc. from Ohio may have settled in the area later.

What really caught my attention was that your Kinney migrated westward to Nebraska.

Have you come across any records in Nebraska for a Jacob Colvin KINNEY or his son Elmer Return KINNEY?  Jacob and Elmer and their families also moved to Nebraska.  About 1890, Elmer was living in Merrick Co - this according to his wife's families genealogy printed at that time.  About 1892, they returned to Michigan due to hail ruining their crops.

I am wondering if our Kinneys might be connected.

Anxious to hear from you,
Jennifer Clark
