Melissa,
Well, what I have so far is George Fish born 1776 in Massachusetts.
He is listed in the Vermont State Census with his father Benjamin and Brother
Benjamin Jr. as living in Bridgewater, Windsor County, Vermont. He married
Selome Campbell before 1800. (I am not sure whether he married Selome Campbell
in Mass. or Vermont) His parents are Benjamin Fish (Of Dighton, MA)
& Keziah Round (Of Rehoboth, MA). Benjamin Fish married Keziah
Round at Rehoboth, MA on August 16, 1764 and were married by Elder John
Hix. George & Selome (Campbell) Fish has George Jr. born 1801,
Vermont, Kezia Round, b. Mount Holly, VT. & Benjamin who died
in
1825 at age 1. George & Selome are buried at Center Cemetery
in Shrewsbury, Vermont. Tombstone of Gerorge reads: Died June 26,
1859 age 83. The tombstone of Selome Reads: Died April 21, 1846 age
67. Also, the Census records indicate more children than what I have
listed.
Buried at the Fish Family plot at Shreswbury are: Betsey Campbell,
Wife of Thomas died May 20, 1832 age 76. Darius Ingerson, died Feb.
6, 1844 age 37. Benjamin Fish (Mentioned above). Susan Fish,
wife of Hiram died March 30, 1843 age 34. Hannah Fish, dau. of Hiram
& Susan died
Feb. 26, 1826 age 5 days. John Ingerson, son of Darius &
Keziah died Sept. 17, 1840 age 10 months. George Fish Jr. died April
2, 1871 age 70-11-16. Lillie Fish dau. of George Jr. & Lucinda
Whitcomb died August 10, 1861 age 8 years. I am still actively working
on this & will keep you updated as I find information. The town
clerk of shrewsbury has been helpful in giving to me the information on
who the father & birthplace of George was. When I check in the
LDS under Benjamin Fish and found that he married Kezia Round it really
surprised me for it made a lot of sense considering that George and Selome
named one of their daughter Keziah "Round" Fish & that
they did have a son Benjamin.
Will be in touch,
Diana
