I assume you are refering to the Horace Eggleston (1817-1864) who married Maria Taft .(ca. 1817-1896).
circa 1841.   He was a recent widow at the time, from her marriage to John Ordway Taft and was the mother of his son Seymour. Seymour was born circa 1839/40 in Triangle, Broome Co. NY.

I don't have much on Horace and Maria yet, except that Horace may have had a sister named Maria who married Frederick English of Broome Co. who removed to Chenengo Co around the time of the 1850 census.  Seymour is living with them in the 1855 census.  He is also listed with your Horace and Maria in that census.  Seymour was in Chenango Co. for the 1860 census
and had moved to Cortland Co. by the 1880 census.

Seymour identifies a half brother William who also lives in Broome Co at the time of his death in 1902.

Seymour was living in the household of his son, William, at Lisle (Broome County) NY., in 1900. His will was probated 2 May 1902 (Book 32, pp 283-4; 287-8) wherein he is described as "late of Lisle". However, his death was not, apparently, recorded at Lisle (or at Triangle) and it may be noted that his widow was not a resident of the State of New York. His legatees were his half-brother, William E. Eggleston of Triangle and his son, William L. Taft of Killawog (Lisle) NY.

Horace is Documented in WFT10.  I have retyped in the part that applies to Broome County and will be posting it sometime soon on the Broome Co. genweb.

Horace is a son of Seth and Anna (Whitney) Eggleston.  Seth is a son of John and Sarah (Wetmore/Whitmore) Eggleston.  Johns parents are Ambrose and Elizabeth (Clark) Eggleston.
