Dear Melissa,
I saw your work on the My.gedcom page and thought
I would drop you a line. I am the new family genealogist for Champion Ferguson
and Rachel Duckett. I am taking this job over from my cousin,
Allene Barber. I wanted to introduce myself to you since you included Champion
and Rachel in your gedcom. I would appreciate any information that
might come your
way in the form of family stories on any of the children of William
Ferguson and Juda Wood and of course, theories on the parents of William
Ferguson. You must have been in contact with some of my cousins since
you know that Juda's father was Belfield Wood and his wife was probably
Averilla. Of course, you may have discovered that yourself. (grin)
I only know that without the help of some of my cousins, it would have
taken me a long time to put all the pieces together.
I wanted to provide you with information on Selina Duckett
and Edward Ferguson to complete your page on them. Edward was
the brother of Champion Ferguson and son of William Ferguson. You show
Champion as the son of William but not Edward. They were brothers
who married sisters. Selina W. Duckett, daughter of Jacob Odell Duckett
and Amy Hipp was b. 1816 in NC d. 01 Feb. 1904 and is buried at Brock Mtn.
AR. She married Edward Hamilton Ferguson 07 April 1836 in Habersham
Co. GA. Edward was born 1816 in Cumberland KY and died 17 Jan 1862 in Clinton
Co., KY and is buried in the Hopkins Cemetery, Clinton Co. KY. Edward
died during the Civil War as a Union Soldier. Champion Ferguson (my ancestor)
was buried at Ten Mile, TN. Rachel Duckett Ferguson was buried in
Fulton Co. AR.
I hope I have not offended you with this offering.
I am hoping to put the entire family of Champion and Rachel on the web
soon. You have done a fine job with your page. Let me know if I can
be of assistance to you in any way.
Sincerely,
Anne Ferguson
