Just received a packet from my husband's cousin....pictures, etc.  He
copied a page out of THE GROTON AVERY CLAN VOL.II, 1616-1912 by Elroy M.
Avery.  Page 831

2612. Albert Hammond Avery (Elisha Vibber, Oiver, Jonathan, Jonathan,
Thomas, James, Christopher) was b. June 7, 1833, at Bozrah, CT.; m.
April 27, 1863, at Bozrah, Harriet Maria Mitchell, dau. of James A. and
Belinda (Maynard) Mitchell.  She was b. July 8, 1845, at Uncasville, CT
and d. June 6, 1899, at Mystic, CT.  He lives in Bozrah. [at the time of
this book's writing].

Child of Albert Hammond and Harriet Maria (Mitchell) Avery, b. at Salem:

   5540.  i.   Leander Adelbert, b. April 27, 1864.

Now, Salem is probably Salem, CT as it is close to Bozrah.  #5540 is
carried no further in the book.  Doug (our cousin) feels this might be
your Leander Avery, who married Julia Gardner.   Of course, there are
other lines of Avery's and it could be a completely different family.

I've found some listings for Ingersolls and next week when I go to the
CT Society of Gen. library, I'll follow through on those.  Can you give
me any further information on Hattie Jane Avery and Ingersoll?  Is
Hattie short for Harriet?  I found a Harriet J. Avery listed that I'm
thinking of following up on also.

We found nothing on Lavina Avery m. James Ireland.  She wasn't listed at
all in the Groton Book, which leads me to believe that maybe she's from
a different line.  I'll keep trying though.  I work 3 days a week and
can only go to the library one day (usually Wednesday).  Will keep
plugging away at it.  I know how frustrating it is to have a name that
you cannot put info to.  My husband's family name is very difficult to
locate.  I have a descendant chart with names and dates, but no
places....which makes it difficult to know where to look.  Right now I'm
concentrating on death certificates of his father's generation and
trying to work my way back.  Takes time to order those from the
counties.  We keep plugging along!  :-)

Any further info you can pass along will help the search.
