William Wordsworth: Sellout

I actually learned something kind of interesting in school a couple of days ago. There was this guy named William Wordsworth and he lived in England. He was totally against his government and the way everything was being handled. He wrote a bunch of poetry and was a huge activist of England's government, starting something called the Romantic Period. Now, when Wordsworth got older, he changed his ways, and he started to actually like England's government, and his king and queen. And so the king and queen gave him this huge honor called Poet-Lauriat, which is a title. His friend Robert Browning, another poet at the time, was really pissed, and he said this about Wordsworth- "Just for a handful of silver, just for a ribbon to stick in his coat." Do I smell sell-out? They had 'em back then too!
