MUSIC REVIEWS
Well the dead has risen. I am fully revamping my website. Arsenic was started in the late 90's. The fourtanate end to a decade of not so great music. Goth was just about the only music making any head way towards something better. Enter 00 and slowly we see an improvement in the mainstream music scene. The resurgance of bands from the 80's and the introduction of bands (with lyrics not meaningless drivel) has made me incredibly happy. I swear if I heard yet another piece of music that followed in the steps of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, or Soundgarden I was going to scream! On the subject of Soundgarden Chris Cornel has made a very fourtante move by joining hands with RATM. His vocals have finally got some meaning and the music backing them shook me to the floor. In the song "Like a Stone" aroung 2:56 seconds in there is an earth shattering guitar solo the likes of which we haven't scene since the death of Glam Rock and the rise of Grundge. THANK THE GODS GOOD MUSIC IS BACK! As to my meaningless drivel of reviews they will be upgraded while I am on spring break. SO 2 weeks and this page will look stellar.
BAND NAME: DREAM THEATERALBUM: IMAGES & WORDSRATING:3.5 coffins
The hard core rock of this album is awesome to behold. Though some of the songs are a little long they all seem to hold some deeper meaning if the listner could just grasp it. The songs touch a place on the soul that makes the images it holds more realistic to the listner. I give this album 3.5 coffins due to the heart rending lyrics, & soul searching words.
BAND NAME: DREAM THEATERALBUM: AWAKERATING:5coffins
This second album by Dream has got to be their best yet. The sounds, riffs, & chords pull you into a whole different world. It truly makes the listner look inside to see who they are & what they are looking for. The music itself is enough to make the 5 coffin rating enough , but the words make it even more worth it.
BAND NAME: The Crystal MethodALBUM: Vegas RATING:5 coffins
This first Crystal Method album is awesome! I wasn't sure at first what I'd think of it, but after I heard the first song they gained a new fan. The synthetic sounds & driving rythms make you want to dance the night away. Not only that, but the words are actually melodious! I am amazed at this fairly new band. I definatly recomend listening to it & discovering them for yourselves! The other awesome points is the lyrics. Listen to them carefully. I keep discovering something new everytime I listen to it! I give this band 5 coffins because the dead are definatly dancing to this album!
This is what my current rating system is. If you have any ideas on how to improve it please tell me. I need help from the people who will be reading this to make this one of the best music review sites on the web!: 1 coffin= the dead wouldn't want to rise/ 2 coffins= The dead are shaking / 3 coffins= The dead are starting to dig their way out/ 4 coffins= The dead are rising/ 5 coffins= the dead are dancing / 6 coffins= the dead are partying in the streets.
