Homecoming 1998
Homecoming 1998 is one of the many Pageland Middle School events some people will
not forget for a long
time. Each day there was a theme as the basis for student dress. On
Monday students could wear any type of
hat they wished and also could paint their hair.
The class participation winners for Monday were Ms. Steele’s
and Mr. Lisenby’s
homebase classes. Tuesday was college day. Students were encouraged to wear their
favorite college shirt. The class participation winner for Tuesday was Ms. Steele’s
homebase. On
Wednesday, the last day of Spirit Week, students went outrageous.
Wednesday was Red, White and Blue
Outrageous Day. The class participation winner for
Wednesday was Ms. M. Smith’s homebase. Since the
homecoming game was Wednesday
and school was dismissed at 1:00, the pep rally was held for the first time
in the morning.
The eighth grade claimed the spirit stick during the pep rally. Wednesday
evening 7th grader
Deatrice Lockhart was crowned Homecoming Queen. After the game
there was a homecoming dance. Even
though the Eagles lost to Cheraw 12-8, everyone
enjoyed the week.
