Another Brick in the Hall

History

One day a young student had gotten the art of surfing and searching the Internet pretty much down pat. Other students studying her course referred to her for help with searching information and sometimes her lecturers asked for advice on short cuts on the Internet.

This young student enjoyed teaching other students the fun of surfing the Internet and looked some more in her time between classes for some fun things to do. Late one day this student stumbled across the chat lines one being the Chat House....hmmm...she thought that this may be an interesting diversion. The young girl looked around, went to a public room, got lost a bit then left again a bit discouraged. She then read the rules of the site and saw that she could join for free as a member with SOME privaleges.

After asking a lecturer if she could join as it cost no money and would not take up room on the University computer she joined the chat line. Well she thought that this could be fun, there must surely be many better rooms in the members areas of the chat house. After a brief look she jumped into the room in the East Wing called The Castle. This room was a role Playing room and the young student got lost very quickly.

Fortunately some of the people chatting in the room called "Regs" short for Regulars took pity on her and described some of the fun things of chat and mostly about chat ettiquette. One well known Reg even gave her his e-mail address to write to if she had any further questions. Needless to say she wrote to him fairly often for help to begin with, the HTML stuff such as color and size confused her.

Thus the character "Brightly" was born, a faerie related to the Willow the Wisps who would lose mortals at night but all in the name of fun. Brightly enjoyed chatting in the Castle and soon became a regular but unfortunately lost contact with her other regulars over the three month holidays at the end of the year. When she returned to chat she noticed that many of the people she knew had disappeared and that the fun had been removed from the room.

So she decided to look around for any more fun. She was a seasoned chatter but she had become sick of Role Playing. Looking in the Public Access Rooms she stumbled upon The Halloween Party. Here was a room FULL to the Brim of FUN. There were many Reg's and all were very friendly as long as one was polite. Brightly watched what the conversations were about and true to her nature jumped right into a conversation that was fun and appealed to her. It was here that Brightly met Joltman!, Wolfman¹, Jinrai, ZackdelaSmoka, Georgi, AlBi and many other Reg's. oh the fun, the joy, she could have a nice chat once in a while again.

So once again Brightly was chatting and she also soon became a Reg to the room earning the to add to her handle. She loved chat, and quickly became addicted to chat and lived for those times when she could chat with her mates over the Internet. The day she heard about AlBi's site she saw what the best of the chat fun stuff could be. Time passed and Brightly chatted and read the funny stuff on AlBi's site.

Unfortunately Brightly had her end of year holidays again, three months away from chatting, the sorrow of it. Fortunately though, she was able to keep in contact with her fellow Reg's through e-mail. She was mollified with this but couldn't wait to get back on line. When she returned Brightly saw many things were different. A lot of the Reg's were no longer coming to chat as often if at all and many chatters reffered to as "Bricks" by the Reg's were in the Hall. The horror of it.

The room was more often over-run with people who exhibited oxymoronic, crude, mono-syllabic behaviour and all in CAPS LOCK.It was such a sad thing to see, but then she noticed new chatters who she could befriend who were not bricks. These wonderful chatters gained pleasure and satisfaction from making bricks leave or behave as did Brightly. Here she chatted with Gatsby, Ghost, AcydRayne, Vampyre Bitch, Tequilla Sunrise and others with more visits from the Reg's she first met.

After spending much time at AlBi's site and thinking about it Brightly decided that she too would like to do a chat site, she wanted it to be similar to AlBi's but not the same. The funnies in chat were covered as were the classics. Brightly decided that she would do a site on the combacks, quips and fun of those other chatters just love to hate, the Bricks. It is at this time in her chat life that you now see Brightly. After experimenting for an new look on her identity to look for a while as ß®ÎG}{†£¥™, to finally identify as ~Brightly~™

And now some time has passed since ~Brightly~™ began her web page, a small unassuming thing that has quickly turned into a monster ~g~ not that isn't worth it. The latest news for Brightly has been that the Halloween Party has been expanded constantly since she first began chatting there. Originally only 20 chatters could get in and now it is so large it is allowing over twice that number to chat. 50 chatters...I ask you, how many regs do you find in a room allowing 50 people? Not as many as it would sound. For Brightly has found that in allowwing more people in the Chathouse and Chat Daemon are actually allowing more Bricks in. All the more for this site you say? Alas if only. Brightly has not been able to chat as much and has had to rely on chatters sending good chat stuff for the site. My email hasn't been overrun, although there have been a few regs who have aided and abetted me for this site for some time now...check the welcome mat. Anyway, enough said, that's the latest update of what's happening in Brightly world (meaning this chat one) and I hope to see you again soon.
