Part 9

While this was happening, Hopp and Tyric had decided it was time to fight back, and both sent an attack flying at the queen. Both were startled when Hopp’s bolt of fire twisted into a scalding steam, and Tyric’s water was suddenly enveloped with snow and ice. They turned around, and saw a male and a female standing there.

"Thanks." Tyric said.

"Thank you," was the reply from the woman. "Until now we had not the reason or the power to that witch’s tyranny and madness."

"You’re most welcome," piped Hopp, who was ever polite as long as you didn’t anger her. "My name is Hopp, and that’s Tyric." The mage in question tried to discreetly roll his eyes, but failed and got a jab from Hopp’s staff. The woman, who had hair the shade of a stormy sea, giggled, and the man smiled a bit, but it faded. Tyric took note of that.

"I am Alita, and that is Merick." She opened her mouth to say more, when she interrupted by the angry Katila, who looked like she had just been through an avalanche.

"I would absolutely hate to disrupt your little get together, but now is not the time to get friendly," She grinned wickedly. "Alita! Conversing with the enemy will get you nowhere but dead. I’m afraid I shall have to teach you a lesson." She shot an orb of energy, and Alita braced for the impact. To her surprise, it sailed right past her and instead struck the ground beneath Hopp and Tyric, causing an explosion of dust and stone. When the air cleared a little bit, a big crater in the floor marked where the two had stood. Hopp was picking herself off the floor a little unsteadily and dusting her off, but Tyric lay sprawled face-up on the ground, showing he was alive only by a slight breathing motion .

Alita became mad. To her, these travelers had just claims to the forest, she had seen the girl when she had first come here, and she was becoming tired of Katila and her actions. "How could you?! Why them?! I’ve had it with you and your schemes!" She glared at Katila, and streamers of blue smoke began to swirl around her. A hand clasped hers, and another. She turned and saw Hopp on one side and Merick on the other. Hopp’s eyes had a steely glow of anger, her mouth set in determination. On the other hand, Merick’s eyes showed pain and sadness.

Hopp noticed and asked Alita, "What’s wrong with him?" She asked. Alita motioned over to the other side of the cavern where two females were battling Baele and Bolt, who in turn were aided by another female.

"The two females are Sorisa, of Earth, and Nalia, of Fire. Nalia is... well, she is Merick’s sister."

(Writer: Baele) Bolt watched as Tyric was knocked unconscious. "Great, there he goes again..." he said. "That guy can’t stay conscious for five minutes!"

"And Silverleaf is a little out of it right now too," Baele observed. This isn’t going too well except for a few turned good."

"I’ll take one Weaver, and you get the other." Bolt suggested. "You get Sorisa, and I’ll get Nalia."

"Excuse me! First name basis?" Baele yelled. "Which one is Sorisa? I don’t know these guys by name, you know."

Embarrassed, Bolt pointed behind Baele.

"Huh?" Baele questioned, When she turned around, she found herself face-to-face with Sorisa. "Uh oh..." Baele said, and turned around to run, but Sorisa pounded the ground, causing a wave of Earth to roll across the floor. It hit Baele, and she flew up in the air and landed on her back.

"Owwww... " she complained, rubbing her back. She looked around for help, but Hopp, Merick, and Atila were busy with Katila, and Bolt was fighting Nalia. She groaned. "this sucks," she muttered.

Meanwhile, Bolt had taken out a large crossbow and had it aimed at Nalia. He shot three at once, well-aimed and headed straight for her.

But Nalia produced a large flame, shooting arrows of flame, and Bolt’s bolts were burnt up. Bolt tried several other ways to sneak around and hit her with an arrow, but to no avail. Nalia always found where he was and used her fire power to burn his weapons.

"Damn it!" Bolt yelled, and threw down his crossbow. He took out his axe, hoping it would be more effective, and readied himself for attack.

Baele picked herself up off the ground and took out her wand. She held it up and yelled "Dark Star X!"

Sorisa was quick though, and used a shield of Earth to protect her from the attack. Baele folded her arms in disgust.

"Hmph, these Weavers are too strong... I guess I’ll just have to outsmart her." Baele lifted her wand again, and Sorisa was confident that she was out of ideas. Baele aimed her wand at Sorisa. "Dark Star..." Then she quickly aimed it at the ground. "X!" The ground exploded and caused a cloud of dust and smoke to rise.

Sorisa couldn’t see in front of her, and was getting frustrated. But Baele quietly made her way behind Sorisa.

"Where are you?!" Sorisa yelled.

"Behind you!" Baele yelled. Then she delivered a swift, powerful kick to Sorisa’s head, causing her to fall on the ground in pain. Then Baele took her wand and shoved it at the back of Sorisa’s head, and the woman fell, unconscious.

"Ooh, that’s a nasty wound." Baele said, looking at Sorisa’s head. That’s what you get," she muttered under her breath, and then went to help Bolt.
