It all began on a snowy night in December. Roz was pregnant, and her and her husband, Marcoe, had waited years for this moment. They had one daughter already, Acacia, but they wanted one more. One more child, and they would be happy. Finally, the day had come.

The carriage was moving slowly, due to the amount of snow that had piled on the roads. Not to mention, the snow that was still falling. It was almost blizzard conditions, not at all ideal for travel. Roz, however, had gone into labor, and she needed to get to the mid-wife's home poste-haste.

Brave, that was what Roz was. She, sitting on the bench seat of the carriage. Marcoe, next to her, and holding her hand while giving her encouraging words. Across from them, three year old Acacia sat. Roz was in quite a bit of pain. The baby, was in the entirely wrong position, which was not a good scenario.

After what seemed like hours, and likely it was, the trio arrived at the home of the mid-wife. Mrs. Greely, was waiting for them when they arrived, and helped to get Roz into the house. As was the normal procedure, Roz was laid onto a table. The table was covered with a soft sheet, and more were piled to the sides of the table. Marcoe, was right beside Roz, holding her hand and stroking his hand lovingly through her hair. He only hoped that his wife would fair well. These were the days when Marcoe was a good man. A kind man.

Mrs. Greely, went about her routine, before she tsk'ed, "The baby is upside down." She spoke, as she wiped her pudgy hands on a towel, "I'm going to have to do a c-section." Roz, paled, and Marcoe shook, "Is that the only way?" He questioned, while looking from his wife to Mrs. Greely. The old women nodded her head, "Yes, but I have done alot of these, so have no fear." She gave a reassuring smile, and got out the necessary tools.

Twenty minutes later, Braelyn Camisha Diabolique, was brought into the world. Braelyn had a head of fuzzy blond hair, like a small halo about her head. Roz smiled through her tears. Her daughter was beautiful.

A few years later, when Braelyn was two and Acacia was five, Roz died. The woman died from natural causes, but it left Marcoe alone with two small children. A fact that he did not particularly enjoy, and that was when he became the man he was this very day. Hard and cruel. Roz had brought out the good in Marcoe, and with her gone, he slipped into the man he had been in his youth.

As Braelyn grew up, she was taught many different things, though most were geared towards what a boy would do. Such as, hunting, fishing, and the like. Though, she was also taught the womanly things, needed to run a household. When Braelyn was nine, she met a boy named Gage Montgomery. The two had quickly become the best of friends. There was never a time, when you didn't see the two together. As they grew, that friendship, grew into love. The was, until, Braelyn had learned they were betrothed to one another. She seethed with anger. How dare they decide -her- future? She was having none of that, and when she was seventeen, she ran from the marriage. In the dead of the night, she crept away like a thief.

Her and her sister, Acacia, had come to a new land, Tyrant. That was where Gage had found her. In a blind panic, and thinking Gage would be furious, as he had every right to be, but she didn't care at that point - she ran from him. But, time heals all wounds, and true love never dies...
