These are the currently detected and known methods cheaters/glitchers use to get ahead and ruin your game. However its always noticed by this happening... Connection Unstable!!! popping up. Hosts follow it as an ALERT to stop the game if neccessary and have teamleaders and teammates evaluate each other immediatly. If something doesn't look right kick the person who everyone is noticing cheating or glitching right away.

  • 1. Underground and pay-per-publish Codebreaker cheat device codes
  • Currently there are a few unpublished cheat codes for the Pelican Accessories Codebreaker cheat/game modification device. They were developed by a few hackers who have remained anonymous, but from what information I have gathered, started on astalavista.com's hackers guild. They have been selling these codes for a few weeks now, but currently they cost quite a bit to aquire and you have to know someone who knows them to get the codes, but we do know what they do exactly...
  • A code to give you double/extra stamina (basically you can take 2-3x the hits)
  • Press L3 or R3 to stall your target when firing with L1 held down. (disappearing player)
  • Automatic headshot when you shoot someone. (constant headshots even from out of range)
  • Bullets do extra damage (remember those one hit kills without headshots)
  • Unlimited clip ammo (never have to reload)
  • Never die from normal shots except headshot or falls (deadman walking)

  • 2. Overclocking/Overloading the DSL/Cable Upload speed
  • Possibly the simplest method, but it's very detectable. Basically if you have a 128kbps DSL/Cable upload speed and you set the "in-game" upload speed to "512 or higher", you'll create a lag where you can move around while other's are stuck where they are until the connection "syncs" back up again which takes a few moments. You can tell also because sometimes people will disappear and reappear on other parts of the map like they are warping around the map. They can easily stall a game, go around killing everyone, and then when the connect restabilizes they get a ton of kills. If you have been reported as a cheater and you think you have been unfairly reported then you might want to reset your speed to the proper upload speed your internet connection uses.

  • 3. Tampering with the hardware/connection.
  • Hosters and players I can't reveal too much information as to how it's done, but I can tell you what to look out for. Basically some people are glitching using hardware tampering techniques to become invisible...
  • 1. Deadman still alive. These are easy to spot as they appear dead on the ground but with a life bar full. They may look as though they are there but they aren't. Actually they are running around invisible and undetected. They can't be killed using normal means except only if you are lucky enough to hit them correctly like with a flame thrower, grenade, headshot, etc. Hosts should automatically kick this person out.
  • 2. Shot from a person on a ladder or hanging. Easily detected by someone noticing a person hanging, but not falling after a certain time getting kmills still. You can end it by stunning the visible body or killing it. Players and hosts you can kick this guy right away or even teamkill at disgression. Getting a Tarantula rank for teamkilling cheaters is actually not a problem with me. In fact if you are one of those rare Tarantula ranked guys who got the rank this way. More power to you.
  • 3. Warping and Disappearing. Ever see a guy vanish and then reappear elsewhere? He's probably using a pedal device to temporary stall the game's connection like the one used in Halo 2. Kick this guy right away or report him.
