The Western Sentinel, nestled amidst the dense forests and rolling hills of the Vale, stands as a solemn reminder of ages long past. Once a formidable fortress commanding the surrounding lands, its weathered stones and crumbling battlements now bear witness to the passage of time and the echoes of ancient conflicts.

The upper level of the Western Sentinel is a patchwork of majestic remnants and decayed structures. Despite the castle's former grandeur, much of this level has succumbed to the elements. Nine rooms, including six tower rooms, rise defiantly against the skyline, their walls adorned with ivy and moss, reclaiming the stones bit by bit. Broken archways and shattered windows frame vistas of the surrounding wilderness, where nature has begun to reclaim what was once forged by mortal hands.

Descending into the lower level reveals a stark contrast. Here, seven rooms retain their sturdy construction, with four intact tower rooms standing as guardians of a forgotten era. These chambers, largely untouched by time, now serve as the stronghold of the Xvart inhabitants. Crude defenses and hidden traps snake through the corridors, remnants of the Xvarts' resourceful adaptation to their environment. Despite the shadows that linger in every corner, vestiges of the castle's former glory can still be glimpsed in the faded tapestries and weathered stone carvings that line the walls.

Throughout the ruins of the Western Sentinel, an air of ancient power and mystery pervades. Symbols of the Dark Fae goddess of death intertwine with remnants of Goblin and Xvart civilizations, whispering tales of forgotten alliances and bitter rivalries. Traces of Alaxus the Minotaur Mage's arcane experiments linger in the shadows, adding layers of intrigue to the crumbling walls and echoing corridors. Each stone and archway holds secrets waiting to be unearthed by daring adventurers, promising both peril and the allure of untold treasures amidst the ruins of a once-mighty fortress.

Western Sentinal Ruins Adventure

Encounter 1: The Outer Courtyard

Description: The adventurers approach the ruins through overgrown paths, emerging into a courtyard strewn with broken statues and crumbling walls. At the far end, a massive gate leads into the castle proper.

Encounter 2: The Great Hall

Description: Once the heart of Western Sentinal, the Great Hall now lies open to the sky, its roof collapsed. Inside, remnants of grand feasts and faded banners line the walls.
