Fire Dungeon or The Isle of the Avatar?

It was 8pm est. again and Conn, Ture, and Kronic met at the House of Dawn.

We had a visitor tonight his name was Tiger, he stopped at the House of Dawn and we chatted for a bit then we decided that we were off to Fire Dungeon again to fight some Fire Elementals.  Tiger asked if he could join us as he was bored this eve, of course we said sure.

No sooner said than done, I opened a gate and through it we stepped.  Fire Dungeons entrance loomed before us and I wasn’t paying much attention next thing I knew I had stepped inside, I had forgotten to cast night sight (well not forgotten since I didn’t plan on being inside yet) but it wasn’t dark in there everything was lit up nicely by the Fire Elemental that was suddenly pounding on my head.  I ducked back outside quickly and cast night sight hitched up my pants and stepped back in.

“Corp Por” I said, and the fire elemental howled in pain, “Kal Vas Flam” and the fire elemental shriveled and died.

I looked around for my companions and they had already started the trip down the hall I ran after them (why was I on foot tonight? That’s another story.)  I watched as my companions walked across the rope bridge (great balance those horses) when I arrived on the other side we fought some fire elementals and we won none of us died and believe it or not I think we got bored.  We walked back across the bridge and noticed the building off to the west, well being the curious types we are someone said “hey whats over there?’

Someone else said “ Mages, evil ones”

I think Ture said something like “Can we kill em?”  (*note once before I called Ture the man of few words but I’m starting to think he’s bloodthirsty)

The first Mage we saw was wearing a dirty blue robe and immediately tried to kill me now I don’t know why they usually go for me first I mean I’m just along for the ride usually, you know the guy in the back that wallops anything that gets out of hand. I leave the up close and personal stuff to the warriors.

Anyway back to the story at hand.  We killed some mages and then we killed some more mages.  Some of them wear a dirty blue robe and the others were wearing a dirty red robe, those guys in blue must be some kind of leader in that Guild they are pretty tough and extremely fast.  After we killed these guys for awhile someone (me) said “ Hey lets go fight something that’s more on our level”

Conn “Daemons?”

Tiger “Yeah” and chuckled.

Ture  “Can we?”

I said “Fire Island or the Maze?”

We decided to go to Fire Island (The Isle of the Avatar) we had already made a trip to the Maze once this month so the choice wasn’t too hard.  Well I only had a rune to get us to the entrance to Hythloth so that’s where we started out and walked to the Fire Temple from there.  If you’ve ever had to move a small group through thick jungle you know that in itself is quite a challenge.  We made it to the temple safely as a group and I ducked off to the side for a second to mark a new rune (always carry ten or so as I make rune collections to sell).  I looked up and I was alone.  I looked all over the place and finally spied them to the north standing on top of the platform inside the temple.  Now if you’ve ever been to the temple you know that its not small nor is it under populated with Drakes, Dragons, and Daemons.  I took a deep breath, scanned the area for hostiles that were interested in me, tightened up the sandals that one of those blue robed mages was kind enough to loan me, and RAN to join the others.   Conn and Ture were busy fighting a Daemon and Tiger was doing my job of healing them and trying to help kill the big ugly.  I took my position and said “Corp Por” a couple of times and the first daemon was down.   I stretched a bit feeling pretty good about things until I heard a mighty roar.  There was a drake and another daemon charging our party and Ture and Conn stood side by side facing the beasts down without any fear in their eyes, only resolution to the task ahead.  I hopped up on  the Altar so I could see better and pulled out my tambourine I played music and convinced the beasts that it would be better to kill each other than it would to kill my compatriots.  And this is how it went for the next little stretch of time Daemons and Drakes attacked us we attacked them some of them were provoked onto one another some of them said I was pretty foolish playing that little tambourine and they attacked me. Well I learned a little more about how to resist spells that’s for sure.  Ture made a name for himself this evening as well the number of beasts he helped slay and his brave actions didn’t go unnoticed I would call him the Honorable Ture now.  Somewhere in the midst of all this chaos Tiger decided to wander off we tried calling out to him and looked for him for a few minutes but, I never saw him again.  I think perhaps next time we find bigger beasts thoughts of The Collector of Souls enter my head and I shake it vigorously “Not yet” I say to myself. “ Not yet.”
