One day Kryasis' father did not come back from the scouting party and there was terrible news of an Undead City near by that was growing in force. Kryasis set upon the trail of his father not yet knowing of what was to come. He came upon the city where bone knights and skeletal knights set upon him. He could do nothing but evade their attacks for he was not skilled enough to engage them. He was swift of foot and darted into the heart of the city. There he saw for the first time, a Lich. At the Lich's feet were several bodies of the scouting party in which his father had been assigned to. A closer look revealed that his father was in the pile of bodies and yet still alive. He darted in to save his father but the Lich held him back with the movement of a finger. He was paralyzed! The lich then destroyed Kryasis' father before his very eyes. Kryasis broke free of the spells grip and aimed his bow for the Lich. The lich came at him and knocked the bow clear of him and proceeded to knock Kryasis down. Kryasis with a shreek of rage blurted out the mystical arcane words of destruction he once heard his mother say "Kal Vas Flam". In that instant the Lich was engulfed in flame and released his grip upon the boy. Injured the lich was furious and came at the boy with magic spells of its own. Kryasis not knowing what to do took a look at the family ring on his finger and read the inscription. "In Jux Sanct". He then heard the lich chanting within the mystic arts and Kryasis ran. He felt a jolt like something pushed him but when he checked himself there was no damage done. He turned to see the lich lying on the ground with the remains of a chain lightning bolt runing through it. Kryasis took a look at his pack of regs which he had forgotten to leave off at the shop and noticed that there was fewer in the bag than before. Kryasis took the news to his mother back in Delucia and proceeded to pack his stuff. He wished to return to the old world where he could perhaps learn more about his special gift and perhaps control it to help him in the future. He used his skill as a lumberjack and fletcher to gain money for schooling and regs for practicing. He met a warrior named Salmissra in which he sold the arrows to. They met often to trade arrows for gold and got to know a bit about the other. He learned she was a Knight in a guild and inquired how to join this guild. He was told that he needed to travel with them to earn their trust. He did so willingly and they opened a gate for him to join them. He was teleported into the midst of an undead dungeon. Terrified at the sight he turned around to see a Dragon standing before him. Sal peaked around the dragon's huge leg and said stay near me, I will keep you safe. They fought liches and mummies and many other undead beasts before the night was over. Within the next few days Kryasis had himself another family. Kryasis has since gained much skill in sorcery and the arcane arts, he has also just recently started persuing one of his childhood passtimes, animal taming. He is now the Lt. of Sorcery for the Knights of the Silver Serpent and a well respected member. His mother moved to Moonglow where she works in the magic shop selling regs there to many people throughout Britania. This is Kryasis' secret way of getting mass amounts of reagents for a good price. Shortly after joining the guild he requested knowledge on how to raise within the rank of the guild. He was told he needed to seek a master to take him as his Acolyte. He was very quick to ask one of the fellow wizards of the guild. Thraxus was his choice and accepted him as his Acolyte. Kryasis was fast to learn the arts of magery and proceeded to increase swiftly with his skills. Neglecting his natural abilities with animals he put all his effort into the mastery of magic. Thraxus was a fine teacher and with his help Kryasis soon raised to the limit of his abilities and was well on his way to mastering his skills in magery. Kryasis spent many a day in the dungeon of Shame where he would kill earth elementals for which he used to practice magery. He would collect the money to buy more regs to kill more elementals and so forth and then soon realized that he was makeing a profit at this and continued to become more efficient at it. He soon built a fairly good sized bank account for himself. Kryasis was eventually given Wizard status within the guild after killing a Wyvern as his quest. He also was asked by the newly appointed Captain of Sorcery if he would be his Lt. Kryasis gladly accepted and proceeded to take two jumps up within the guild rather quickly. Kryasis then dove back into his magery studies untill mastering them a week later. After becoming a Grandmaster Mage from training in Vesper, Kryasis left for the legendary city of Wind. He asked many people of whom only a few had even heard of the town. The most knowledgeable were miners oddly enough. He was directed to a small construction built into a mountain side very high in the peaks. Inside was a circle of sorcery. He proceeded to step on the circle and was instantly teleported into a cave. He wandered around and heard the distant sounds of liches and the roaring of other beasts. He started down the hall awaiting a lich to destroy with his improved magery skills. Instead he came upon a great horned beast with wings. A deamon jumped out at him and made well its intent to attack. Kryasis quickly began to cast spells, the first of which was paralyze. It worked! The deamon was frozen. Kryasis began to walk by to escape the deamon before he broke loose but just a few steps past and the deamon was free and coming at Kryasis again! Kryasis not eager to engage a deamon ran down the hall not looking in front of him as much as he should have. He came to an abrupt halt when he ran into the leg of a drake. Quickly realizing that he could not possibly take on both he ran between the legs of the drake and down the cavern. He heard the distant shouts of humans yelling battle commands. As he took the next turn he saw the brillant white steps of the city Wind. As he stumbled up the steps he shouted "GUARDS". Immediately the guards took there stance at the entrance to the city. With the confidence of Lord British's enchantments they eagerly engaged the drake and lich and were successful in slaying the beast and its undead companion. Kryasis fell to the ground out of breath and when he looked up he beheld the shimmering white city of the mages. After finding the legendary city Kryasis went back to Vesper where he packed his bags and moved his belongings to Wind. Now that Kryasis had mastered the casting of spells he felt the need to take a small relieve from magery. He went to Delucia and the memories of soo long ago came back to him. The animals still gathered near him as if he was no threat at all. He then decided that a helpfull skill to learn is the skill of taming animals. After all what could stop a Grandmaster Mage while riding a nightmare and with a dragon for a pet? Soon after he began training for his animal taming skills, he was called back to the guild, for its leader was leaving and with the leader, many others were leaving as well. The guild had to pick a new leader and the Captain of Sorcery was picked to lead the guild on into the future. Kryasis was promoted to Captain of Sorcery for the guild but was called away on a distant adventure and thus resigned his position from the guild entirely. Here is another story.... Kryasis and the baby Dragon Chapter 1 "White turned Red" Kryasis was wandering through the caves of Wind on a routine reagent shopping trip when he noticed something very odd. From the entrance to the town he didn't remember seeing any liches or deamons roaming about. The sense of an ambush came upon him and he rushed to town to gain the safetey of the guards. As he entered town and felt the enchantments envelop him he did not yet feel safe from the threat. As he rounded the corner of the city wall he then knew why he did not feel safe, as he saw two dead guards laying in a pool of their own blood. Still feeling warmth from the bodies Kryasis figured it safer to return to the caverns, perhaps the enemy was still in the city and would not think to look for him there. Kryasis wandered around the caverns for a few hours looking for any sign of what might have happend when he came across the spring. It was uninhabited! He knew of the dragons who lived at the spring and approached the spring cautiously expecting to be attacked by the dragons hiding with invisibility magic. Nothing happend as he approached the crystal clear water. Seeing the tracks leading away from the spring he followed them, but only for a distance. He soon realized what the destination of the giant footsteps was. They were headed for Wind. All became clear to him as he realized that the dragons and deamons must be attacking the town as a combined force. Why he thought to himself, dragons have been slaying deamonkind for centuries and to suddenly turn to slay humans along side the deamons is not something dragons would do willingly. Kryasis began to explore the caverns extensively looking for perhaps a deamon lord who might be leading the forces and able to persuade the dragons by forcefull means. Kryasis soon heard a familiar sound coming from deep within the caverns. Kryasis had not traveled this far into the caverns due to the heavy pressence of deamonkind in these ancient halls. He followed the sound which was the sound of a creature suffering and possibly near death. The sounds became louder as he traveled deeper into the cavern. Soon Kryasis came upon an opening within the cave, he muttered the words, "In Lor" as the huge dome became visible to him. Chapter 2 "The Forgotten Foe It is commonly known that dragons live in the dungeons around the mystical city of wind. There are also many other creatures that walk the ancient caverns beyond the cities enchantments, such as deamons and liches. The dragons for centuries have controled a spring of water within these cavers, defeating all who dared draw near. Other than the occasional traveler the spring is the only source of water for the beasts of the caverns. The dragons that nested near the spring earned the spring by defeating the deamons that had once controled it and thus won the territory by force. They never let their guard down and thus through the centuries the dragons passed down the spring to their offspring and once they became strong enough to defend the spring, it became their job to defend the spring and the life giving water it produced. The town council of Wind was also opposed to the liches and deamons obtaining the spring for that would increase their numbers and they might perhaps become a threat towards the town dispite the enchantments of protection. Though the town was by no means an ally to the dragons they recognized that the dragons would not attack the town as the dark ones would. Knowing this the town would occasionally send some of the guard out to slay some of the foul beasts. This became to hard to manage for the town guard so the town offered rank of fame to those who killed the deamns and liches in the name of Lord British. Thus the mages of the land began to pour into the caverns. The looming threat of destruction caused the deamons, and liches to give up hope of ever regaining the spring for themselves. An opportunity soon arose for the dark kin to gain their revenge against the humans and dragonkind alike. A wandering baby dragon strayed away from protection of the spring's dragons and was captured by the deamons. This was the break the deamons needed to gain the spring and destroy the humans. With the baby dragon in hand the deamons made a deal with the dragons. In return for the baby dragon the Dragons of the Spring would attack the town of Wind with the deamons of the caverns to destroy the human pressence in the caverns. The dragons reluctantly agreed and the attack upon Wind began. Chapter 3 "The Unseen Revealed" Kryasis dismounted his Mare Kry and proceeded to enter the domed room. With a verbal command he ordered his mount to follow him into the dome. As he followed the path along the wall he saw pictures of the destruction of a glowing white city. This must be Wind he thought to himself. Suddenly a shiver was sent up his spine. He turned to face Kry and saw his eyes were crimson red, as smoke began to roll from it's mouth. The Lord knew what was about to happen and he dropped to the floor just as Kry leaped into the air at its opponent. Kry had seen the unseen and took chase to protect its master. The dome lit up with burst of flame as Kry blasted the invisible deamon with its breath. Kryasis took to his mount healing it while it faught the beast. Knowing that deamons were formidable opponents Kryasis took a step back, calmed himself, as he entered the spellcasters trance. His head lifted, his eyes beamed at the deamon with their icy glare. Kry seemed to have the right idea and thus his spell was selected. Almost instantly after the words were uttered, "Kal Vas Flam", the deamon was engulfed in a pillar of fire. Kry taking after its master summed its power to end the battle as yet another pillar of fire engulfed the deamon this time with another blast of fire from the nightmare itself. The deamon fell to the ground smoldering from the extreme heat. The noise Kryasis had heard did not end with the slaying of the deamon however, and Kryasis headed on down the path. Feeling better that he finaly met some resistance he called Kry to guard him as he walked down the path. Sending the occasional fireball to reveal any other invisible opponents Kryasis and his mount only engaged on more deamon which was easily dispatched as they caught it off guard. This being the case Kryasis decided to use an old trick taught to him by an old friend, Lord Thraxus. He said the words "Vas Ort Flam Cor Por", this usually said in two seperate sentences is only accomplished by a very skilled mage. With a huge explosion the deamon was disrupted in its own spell causeing a missfire. With a sudden roar of pain the deamon's body was ripped apart by various poison tipped blades. With the end of the deamon Kryasis knew what was standing in its place. A blade spirit was present and had achieved its primary goal of killing its master. With that Kryasis knew he must dispell the creature swiftly. A few short words and the Blade Spirit was dispelled back to the abyss. Kryasis proceeded down the path untill he reached the bottom of the dome. The crys were coming from a creature in the center of the floor there. As he approched the creature he was struck with a telekenetic force. There was a barrier protecting the...the...baby dragon? Kryasis looked at the crippled baby dragon realizing what had happend within these caverns. Knowing the plans of the deamonkind he proceeded to make plans for destroying that barrier in hopes of saving Wind before it was too late. Commiting this cavern to memory Kryasis mounted his mare and whisked himself away on the threads of magic. Chapter 4 "An Eternal Friendship" Landing himself at the "Knights of the Silver Serpent" guild hall, Kryasis searched out his old instructor and friend, Thraxus. Discussing what had happened within the caverns of Wind Kryasis asked Thraxus to help break the barrier around the baby dragon to take the dragons out of the fight with the humans of Wind. Thraxus asked Kryasis to return to the caverns of Wind with Kry to keep clear the pressence of any deamons within the domed room. Thraxus then left without word of plan or destination. Kryasis returned to the domed room unopposed to protect the baby dragon. Nearly an hours wait for Kryasis and he was begining to wonder if his old friend would come through for him. Kryasis began to hear the familiar sounds of deamonkind approaching. Perhaps they were warned by a magical trap of Kryasis' pressence. Kryasis dismounted ordering Kry to stand guard. The deamons, taking guard after hearing the commands given by Kryasis, began to cast their dark enchantments to aid them in battle. The ground began to move beneath Kryasis' feet as the barrier around the baby dragon seemed to be tested. Kryasis looked up to see the deamons loosing their balance as well. He noticed a white glow about the air, these caverns had been enchanted so that none could teleport into the area or gate from within. Floating white images of the Moonglow council were hovering in the air within the dome. With a flash of light the barrier around the dragon was broken. Suddenly all the images but one dissapeared and the deamons resumed their casting. Kryasis ran to the baby dragon and orderd Kry to protect it. The deamons finished their enchantments and raced down the path towards Kryasis and the baby dragon. The reamaining figured took to intercept the deamons and materialized in the path of the beasts. It was Thraxus! Knowing what Thraxus was to face he sent Kry to help him with the dreaded deamons as he stayed to heal and protect the baby dragon from harm. Thraxus was quick to put a barrier between him and the deamons. "Vas Ort Flam Kal Vas Flam", said Thraxus as the firey powers struck the deamons with deadly force. Kry gave a final kick to the deamon and sent it back into the wall where it quite possibly remains till this day. Knowing what had happend the other deamon took off to warn the others. Kryasis gestured to Thraxus to go and let the dragons know their baby is safe. With a whistle Kry returned to his master. Kryasis beckoned the baby dragon to follow him up the path. The baby dragon followed, protected by Kryasis and his mare. As they reached the town of Wind they saw the deamonkind retreating from the town gates, Thraxus close behind running after them shooting a fireball or two striking the deamons in the back as they run into the caverns. Slowly amassing behind Thraxus was the Dragons of the Spring. Kryasis lead the baby dragon to the dragon family. With the return of their offspring the dragons returned to the spring. Thraxus knowing his job was done returned to his duties of training the Knights. Kryasis returned to his duties of collecting reagents for the guild and the town of Wind was once again safe. Kryasis was on his way to the exit portal within the caverns and he noticed he was being followed. He quickly headed for the portal atop Kry. Once on the other side he was satisfied that the deamons could not reach him anymore and turned to start his journey home to Vesper. Kryasis felt the pressence of magic suddenly hit the air and turned directly around to the portal, where the baby dragon was standing. Kryasis.
