______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ At most Banks you will find a community message board on the wall. You can click it to post and read messages. Serenity also has special boards scattered throughout. Event Boards, Guild War Boards and so on. You also get a guild board when you purchase a guild hall. Guild members will be able to communicate this way even if they aren't all online. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Universal Mailboxes are spread throughout the land. You can use these to send email to players whether they are online or not. Please note that it only informs you of new mail if you are online when it is sent, so you may want to periodically check your mailbox when you logon. If you purchase a house you also get a mailbox. These are not universal and can only be sent between house owners. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ To broadcast a message to the entire server type this ' (an apostrophe) in front of all your broadcasts, for example: 'hello! ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ to emote type /me action. for example to bow type this: /me bows ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ to whisper to a player type /msg user message (user = player's name) ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ to guild speak type /g message ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ to ignore someone type /ignore user, to unignore them type /unignore user (user = player's name) ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ If you just type straight into the chat box then your message will only be heard by the players on the screen with you. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Friend's List / Instant Messages - The friends list functions in much the same way as an AIM Buddy list. To add a user to your buddy list you must type: /friends add name into the chat window. For example, If I were trying to add Darkrage to my friends list I would type: /friends add Darkrage. Using the proper casing in the username is important. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ To private message your friend you will simply highlight their name and then click the IM Button (the bubble) OR go to Game menu -> Send Instant Message If I need to explain the rest to you I would much rather punch you in the face. No need for typing msg user message into the chat window anymore. This vastly simplifies things. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ At the bottom of your friends list you will see 3 icons... ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The first icon (the - sign) is to remove a user from your friends list. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The second icon (the bubble) is to make an IM window pop up. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The third icon (the person) is to set an away message for your IM. It is recommended that you do this if you do not want to be bothered with IMs. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ You can drag the IM window to a more suitable position if you wish. When new IMs come in they will appear in the spot you have selected. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
