The World Elite

          Part I: The Formation Of The Elite

Prologue

   It was a gloomy day and Raine was in her last class thinking about her fantasy of being a mage (a person who uses magic for good purposes).  Oh the thought of fighting evil forces with her friends, Balgerda& Amy, it was complete fantasy, but it was good bases for a story, although she never thought about putting her fantasy on paper because she didn’t know how her friends would feel about that, seeing that they shared that same fantasy.

   Then the bell rang signaling the end of the day, it was Friday.  “ Thank God it’s Friday ” Balgerda said, as she met up with Raine.

   “ So off to the temple?” (Which is what they called Raine’s grandfather’s house for it was an old Chinese place of worship) Raine asked.

   “ Sure, but first we’ve got to find Amy. She’s probably at the library checking their inventory for that book.” Balgerda said as she was failing at remembering her lock combination.

   “ It’s 23, 41, 15.” Amy said sounding like she knew everything, which was not far from the truth, seeing that she aces every test, quiz and exam and remembers it, yet light heartedly “ and about the book, I checked that out this morning during my spare knowing that it would be checked out after school.”

   “ Well, to the temple then!” Raine said happily but did not know why.

       Chapter I: Spekkio, The Mentor

   It was a long bus ride to the temple at which Raine lived with her grandfather, but they, Raine, Amy& Balgerda, were used to it, seeing that they go to the temple every Friday.  At the temple Amy finished chapter five in her book and asked, “ So, to start general conversation, what collage or university will you be going to?”

   Balgerda, who just stays at average grade, was annoyed and said, “ You first.”

   “ Well I want to go to Shanghai International University. What about you Balgerda?” replied Amy.

   But before Balgerda could reply, a very strange voice just appeared out of nowhere, “ Raine, Amy, Balgerda, you three are destined by fate to become the World Elite, to protect Earth from evil. Do you accept?” it said.

   Amy said “ Well, to be logical we would need proof that we are the World Elite.”

   “Alright I’ll bring you here.” said the voice.

   After that, a white flash made Raine close her eyes. When she reopened her eyes Raine saw she was in a large square room with guardrails, passed the rails Raine saw a blue abyss going on for eternity. Raine looked around some more and saw her friends just as confused as she was. Then a creature that looked like a panda; with human looking hands and feet, and standing upright, materialized and said “ I am Spekkio, I will act like a mentor to you advising you about your magic power. Your first lesson is about your own magic element and how to use it. Raine lets start with you: your magic element is fire, effective against ice based creatures, but fire based creatures will absorb the attack, ice spells will deal considerably more damage to you. Amy: your magic element is ice, effective against fire-based creatures, but ice-based creatures will absorb the attack, fire spells will deal considerably more damage to you. Finally Balgerda: your magic element is lightning, effective against water-based creatures, but lightning-based creatures will absorb the attack, water spells will deal considerably more damage to you. Now, no one can learn magic, you have to be born with it.  Long ago people all used and enjoyed such powers but now magic diminished and the only people left that can use magic are you three. Now to bring it out of you.” Spekkio then chanted some strange words, “ So fortified with magic want to try it out?” The mentor asked.

   Raine, Amy and Balgerda then tuned to each other thought about it for a minuet and Raine said “ Sure!”

   Then the contest began, and Raine cast Fire, and a small explosion formed around Spekkio, Amy cast Blizzard, and a small ice storm contacted Spekkio, and Balgerda cast Thunder, a small lightning bolt came into contact with Spekkio.  Spekkio cringed slightly, and then hit Raine with Blizzard, Amy with Fire and Balgerda with Water, a small water sphere formed around Balgerda.  The party was hurt but did not want to give up, however things looked bleak, another hit like that and they would be finished.  So Raine thought of some thing brilliant “ Hey! Spekkio won’t go down on our next assault so lets combine our power and see where that will get us”

   Then Raine, Amy and Balgerda chanted their spells together not knowing what to expect.  When they where done they said “Tetra Elemental”, without knowing why, but it became the spells tital.  Amy’s Blizzard spell froze Spekkio and Raine’s Fire spell, enhanced by the heat off of Balgerda’s Thunder spell, created a great heat that melted the ice, the resulting whiplash of cold to heat with no in between clearly damaged Spekkio.

   Afterwards, Spekkio said, “ Ah, good work I give up.  Heh, to tell the truth I expected less.  But I was fighting the World Elite.  The thought of combining powers to make one powerful attack is ingenious and to pull it off takes talent, my hat is off to you.  But don’t let that make you overconfident because talent cannot defeat true power and there will be enemies more powerful than you are, always train your magical power.”

   Before they could answer, the party was back at recreation room in the temple.

Chapter II: Magus The Dark Wizard

   After a month of training, if you are interested they were finished high school, Raine thought about Spekkio, what he said about them being the World Elite, protecting the planet from evil.  “ Hey, Amy, Balgerda, I wonder what Spekkio meant when he said “ talent cannot defeat true power” I mean who could have that type of power?” Raine said.

   Then Raine’s grandfather entered the living room and said “ Quick turn on the TV!”

   Raine did so and saw true terror.  “ No. What is this!” she said with a whisper that only she could hear.

   What she saw, was a man dressed in a dark blue sleeveless shirt, dark purple pants, a strange dark green jade amulet and a dark red cape, but the thing that stood out the most was his strangely dull white skin.  He was swinging a giant scythe at the cameraman, the camera fell and hit the ground but the cameraman did not follow, Raine wondered if the fiend was holding the man, thus keeping him standing.  But no one is that evil, right?  “ Lets go, we have to go there and stop him!” Raine said boldly, yet with some fear clearly in her voice.

   Unlike most, Raine’s grandfather let her go, seeing as he knew of Raine’s power and doubted that that her friends were any different.  Raine, Amy and Balgerda mentally prepared for their fight with that powerful enemy, then traveled to Pudong via train to confront him.  Later on after a short train ride; in Pudong, the Elite reached the fiend who was killing everyone, and found out that the fiend was absorbing people!  When he hit a person with his scythe and the man disappeared!  Then he saw the Elite, “ Hmph, who is next?” he said with a sadistic grin.

   Then Balgerda said like she had no equal “ The World Elite, and whom do we owe the pleasure of beating?”

   Then the fiend looked toward the Grand Hyatt acting like he did not hear Balgerda’s remark, by now you should know enough about Balgerda to know that she did not like that very much, but before she could say anything else, he spoke up, “ Heh, I am Magus, the dark wizard.” Magus said in a calm, yet dark voice that would send chills down the toughest persons spine, the Elite was no exception.

   It took one whole minute before even Balgerda would speak.  Then at last Balgerda said “ Well then.” She said normally. “ Lets, go!”  she then yelled.

   The Elite then ran to engage Magus, but before they could get in close enough for their spells to be effective, Magus hit Balgerda with Water, Amy with Fire and Raine with Blizzard, when it was all over, all Raine was able to say before she blacked out was, “ Wow, he is definitely stronger then Spekkio!” Then Raine saw Magus turn and walk, toward the temple!

   Once Raine recovered, she saw her friends sitting in front of her.  Then she remembered Magus heading toward the temple and said, “ We have to get to the temple, I saw Magus heading in that direction, last I saw!”

   Amy and Balgerda just nodded.  At the temple, Raine’s heart lifted when she saw that the temple was okay and her grandfather was sleeping in his hammock in the shade of the many trees in the yard.  After a little quiet R&R Raine saw a note on the inside of the front door, it read ‘ If you want redemption for your horrid display of fighting, then go to the tallest building here at seventeen hundred hours for chance at redemption, Raine, Amy, Balgerda.                                    

-Magus

   “ Oh, my god.” Was all Raine could say.  “ Balgerda, Amy, take a look at this.  He came here!”

  Raine, Amy and Balgerda then read the letter three more times, trying to figure out what had just transpired.  This is what they thought had happened: Magus must’ve known where Raine lived and came here pretending that he was a friend and gave her grandfather a note that only she could read, her grandfather, being a man of morals, agreed to leave it for her.  Then a confirmation came through the door “ Ah, Raine I see you got that young mans letter, a boyfriend, hm? Raine’s grandfather said in a sly voice.

   “ What?  No, he‘s a” Raine said not knowing what else to say.

   Then Amy said “ No, just an aquatint.”

   “ Okay, got it.” Said Raine’s grandfather, slightly disappointed, and left.

   Then Raine said, “ Alright, lets get him.  Lets see seventeen hundred hours, that’s five o’clock.  At five let’s meet at the Grand Hyatt to battle, Magus!” She then sat down in the couch.

   Later, at five Raine waited for her friends in the grandiose lobby of the Grand Hyatt “ Alright, let’s go kick Magus’ butt!” said Balgerda with Amy behind.

   “ Let’s use Tetra Elemental on him, it worked on Spekkio maybe it will work on Magus.” Amy said in a reminding tone.

   “ Hopefully.” Raine added, as they walked towards the elevator.

   At the top, Magus prepared for battle, he was not hardheaded, he knew they had to have some power to be called the World Elite “ Why be called elite if you don not have some power.” He looked forward to their fight here.

   The elevator was almost at the top and Raine thought about how the fight might end.  “ What a change, before we would leave this kind of thing to the police, but now we are the only people who can defeat this guy.” She said, trying to sound brave.

   “ Yeah, before I thought this kind of thing would be cool, but now I realize that this is really dangerous.” Balgerda said, hiding the emotion in her voice.

   “ Well here we are.” Said Amy, calmly.

   “ Our destiny lies before us.  Let’s get Magus!” Raine said as they stepped out to find the dark wizard.

   “ Well, well, well, you came, I did not think you would give me the pleasure.” Magus said in another ice cold voice that sent chills down the Elite’s spines.

   “ Let’s finish this Magus!” Balgerda said in loud voice.

   This time, the Elite had the drop on Magus and cast their spells first.  But they did not seem to affect Magus.  “ Such feeble spells, a vain attempt at redemption, this is how you cast those spells!” Magus said then cast Fire on Raine, Blizzard on Amy and Thunder on Balgerda.

   Even though Magus cast spells that the Elite were strong against they hurt them more they should have.  “ We must use Tetra Elemental.” Raine said.

   So once again they chanted their spells together and said “ Tetra Elemental!” when finished.

   “ Aagh, I knew you had that kind of power!  But I shall still prevail with my shadow magic!” Magus said insanely, then he cast a shadow spell, and said the name of the mystery spell “ Dark Bomb!”
