"You can choose not to listen to me,
but you cannot ignore me.
You decide how much of a hell
you want me to make your life."
~Jarrod of Usher~

The office looks like something out of an old Sherlock Holmes movie. The rich dark woods of bookshelves and plush furniture seem to transport a mind back in time when the hunt for answers was but a leap of the imagination away. The air has the residual scent of pipe tobacco although there is no pipe in evidence anywhere. All the light fixtures direct the scant illumination into corners and to the ceiling, never directly into the room. The shelves are filled with Astrology and Philosophy and many copies and books of History and Language. A few are in Latin and Greek. Several more are in Sanskrit. Learning aids, guides, edicts. These are tomes of knowledge to be spread to open minds.

The desk is sturdy oak and dutifully dusted and polished; looking like something out of a 40's accountant or bookie's desk. A stack of notes and lists and memo's litter one end. A paperweight in the shape of a gargoyle weighs them in place. A pianist's metronome rests on the opposite end. Near it sits a name plaque, but the name is of a preceding owner of the office. Rego Vermillion. Why it is Kept is a mystery. In a corner behind the desk is a redwood brandy cabinet with crystal glasses and bottles of liquor within easy reach of the swiveling leather chair. Before the desk sits two easy chairs for comfortable meetings. Off to the side near an unoccupied wall is a Divan, or half couch, covered in plush carpet and a pillow for easy reclining. Above that hangs a gilded frame around a large rectangular Mirror.

Under it is a tiny brass plate with the words inscribed: "What Do You See?"

Rep History

Jarrod has been the representative of the Euthanatos going on 3 years now. No one expected him to suddenly take up the position, and he certainly didn't expect to be holding it this long. He was one of the very few Thanotics visiting the chantry that had enough skill in magic to accept the job other than his mentor and former Rep, Rego Vermillion and Rego's ward and former student Alexis Cross. Alexis was expecting yet another child at the time and Jarrod felt she was not that fit to hold the rep position. Jarrod had garnered something of a reputation for himself by that time. With no official affiliation with the chantry, Jarrod was the black sheep of the Tradition spending his time elsewhere than with his Traditionmates. In his wanderings he'd come across other recently Awakened Thanotics needing guidance. These stray sheep he brought to Infinity so that other people could tend them, and for this the Black sheep became something of a shepherd. So when it was suggested to him the Repship was open and he should take it, there was little choice he had but to assume the role. There was however some misgivings among his peers that Jarrod was too Jhor tainted to guide others and represent thier Tradition. It was warned he could Fall and take the rest of thier growing numbers with him as had once occured before in recent Thanotic history. But his mentor had faith in Jarrod, and that has been one of the main reasons he strives to uphold the position he was given as best he can; to honor the faith his old mentor bestowed.

There have been times Jarrod has been unfit to represent his office, and in these times he's taken steps to ensure the guidance of the Trad is in good hands and that his tarnish is lessened lest the Albeiro come calling. Jarrod's levels of Jhor have put others in danger before, but he has not killed any member of his Tradition or the member of the Chantry in anger or premeditative murder. ....yet. In Jarrod's views he is presenting himself as an example to the rest of his Tradition and other to mages in general of just what Not to be. He's all too well versed in how the soul goes astray and is quick to recognize the signs in anyone else and make sure they get help long before they are allowed to degrade to his level. He treds the thin line between his Fall and helping others so very carefully. There's occassions the strain shows, and other times where he's a pillar in a storm. A little faith in him to do the right thing goes a long way. Those that earn his respect and friendship find him an inspiration. Those that earn his wrath find he is very skilled with a knife.

Rep's Wing Rules

The Wing Rules are like any other dorm or frat house. Don't shit where you sleep. Don't invite punishment by being stupid. Take care of your own. In more lengthy words, it's frowned upon for a Thanotic to kill anyone within the wing. Whether it's the Good Death or Certamen. The act will leave a mark on the spirituality of the wing itself that will be nearly impossible to erase. Not to mention the spirit of the slain may decide to hold a grudge and Remain to make working in the area a living hell.

It's also ill-advised to perform any magic, coincidental or Otherwise outside the protective wards of a specific room. The Chantry is no longer a universal sanctum and all acts of magic will garner a price to be paid for any mage foolish or desperate enough to work effects without heed for the consequences. This also goes for any misbehavior that the Rep might catch and deem unacceptable. The environment of the wing is to be respected and preserved. Everyone within these walls must observe and accept Cause and Consequence.

Lastly, those living on the upper floor in the dorm rooms are expected to take care of themselves and clean up after themselves. Buy your own dishes, your own food, pay your own bills and rent. Or at least Donate some ammount of money so that supplies can be bought and bills paid. Every member is expected to contribute to the betterment of the wing is some form or another. It's really not much to ask.

The Chadona is listed on a framed parchement hanging unobtrusively next to a bookcase. It will be pointed out to anyone who needs to see it. Listed are the eight spokes of the Wheel all Euthanatoi are expected to know and follow. Read carefully.

Jarrod's Personal code of honor

Jarrod as Rep and a Mage of repute expects a few things followed on top of everything else. He tries to follow this same code of ethics as much as he expects others to follow it. First and foremost being respect for those of greater experience and station. Secondly, those of younger more impetuous nature should be given a chance to prove themselves and earn respect for themselves.

Those who fail to Give respect, fail to earn it from Jarrod. He hardly gives more than one chance to make up for it. There have been exceptions, but only rarely. He'll distance himself from those whome he doesn't feel he can trust or respect. If they are a fellow Thanotic, he will deal with you as professionally as possible to offer aid. Expect nothing else if you've blown your first two chances.

Those who Continue to be disrespectful and obstinant Jarrod will offer you only curt critisism and a cold shoulder. Obviously if you think your time is wasted on him, then he won't spare you any of his own. He's got better things to do and other students with more patience and manners to instruct.

If you damage, people or proporty Jarrod conciders his, (and as long as he is rep the wing is concidered his), don't expect any mercy in his judgement that could go as far as expulsion from the wing until ammends is made to person or porperty.

Visitors run the risk of being asked to leave if they are disruptive, noisey, destructive, disrespectful, or if they've broken rules elsewhere. The wing is a Haven. Guests who enter are exactly that. Guests. Just because you are another Mage, doesn't mean you have the same rights as a Thanotic.

Custos are the only ones Jarrod gives the same respect as the Thanotics. To Jarrod, anyone daring to be so close to death, against the instinctual fear that is abolished in Awakened, deserves a fair measure of respect as a courageous soul. However, Custos are not Magi. They must be aware of thier limitations and the fact the Magi will be more protective of them in many situations. They'll just have to deal with this.

A Thanaotic must be as good as thier word. Vratas are taken very seriously. Loyalty to Tradition, House, Cabal, Custos and Chantry friends is something Jarrod conciders very sacred. Anyone showing otherwise is going to be singled out and branded an oathbreaker and shunned if not outcast from the wing by the rest of the members. Everyone joining this particular chantry is expected to Die to protect it. After all, what is death to a tradition of resurrection mages?

Mind your Jhor. This is probably the most important edict that Jarrod is constantly reminding others of as well as himself. All Thanotics hold dreath's hand, all are meant to kill to ensure the good of the cycle. None are meant to take pleasure in death. The warning signs are very clear. Should anyone, even Jarrod himself, appear too dangerous and unstable, help will be given to lessen the taint. Whether help is asked or not. Jarrod has had an unfortunate history of needing some weeks or months off spent among family and loved ones who can remind him of life's joys and empathy to diminish his taint. The last thing he wants is to have to destroy one of his own tradition who do not take steps to cleanse themselves. Nor does he want to give his tradition mates cause to destroy him.
