Rescue

Returning to Doraf, Rooks finds that Axs isn't home. Luckily, the old knight left a note...telling Salah that he was going to the Ice Mine and to wait for him to get there. Knowing the enemy has also gone to the Ice Mine, Rooks follows.

Inside, Rooks travels the corridors, finding the petrified Axs in the process. With the help of his Unpetrify spell, Rooks frees the knight and learns that Ariel has definately gone in deeper with Salah. Knowing they need to set the princess free, the two team up and begin to traverse the extremely long and confusing Ice Mine.

Eventually, the men encounter the Hydra, a multi-headed dragon that lurks in the corridors. By defeating it, Rooks proves himself a man in Axs' eyes, and the knight entrusts him with Marid, the Water Spirit, that Zahan had given him before the coup.

It isn't too much further until the men discover the Lava Room, holding place of the Enchanted Jewel. There, they find Salah under a sleeping spell and Ariel getting ready to escape. As Axs tends to the former, Rooks confronts the latter, but Ariel's other-other apprentice, Sauza, comes to cover his master's escape.

Rooks defeats Sauza, but Ariel has once more fled with one of the treasures. Knowing he can't catch the man, he instead returns to Axs and Salah. But Salah is still injured and sleeping, and Axs realizes they need to bring her someplace to rest.
