Einkill Holdereck

Einkill Holdereck

Einkill grew up in the Great Hall of the Dwarven Empire as a member of the Kazunel Clan.  The great weapon-smithing clan. He was raised by his father, Thonagas Thonbain, who traveled the lands.  Einkill was with his father in Vaalor when his father went out hunting to the ogre warriors and never returned.  Einkill thought him to be dead and though he was young, he took up an ax and began to hunt for his father.  He made it to the stockades before he was cut down and left there to die by the ogre warriors.  He was saved by a kind cleric names Lady Sianan Eveningstorme-Olberath.  She brought him back to life and gave him a tour of the town and taught him of its ways, as did her husband Lord Gowain Olberath.  Soon though he received word that his father may have been seen at the Order of Voln in the Landing.  Einkill packed his things, said his goodbyes, and took off over the Spine.  Joining him on this quest were his friends he had grown up with Tarwen and Zzyuel.

Once he reached the other side he finished his journey to the Order of Voln only to find that he could not enter and search for his father without joining the Order.  So this he did and after searching and finding nothing of his father, he remained there and learned from the Order in order to make his life more fulfilling to him.  When he had arrived there, his only thought had been of trying to find his father.  But in his time with the Order, he learned of their ways and found that all the speeches and lectures he had tried to ignore had stirred something strong within him.

He found many things in the Landing.  One was a forge in town where he took up his clan's skill of weapon-smithing.  While he is still young at it, the town blacksmith Iron Jack has already said there is a great weapon smith to be found in him.

Also there, Einkill found love in a girl named Estiana.  He first found her in Vaalor but thought nothing of it when he heard of his father's reported sighting in Landing. He took off without saying another word to her.  She was a dark elf ranger and did not even know common from her time in the woods.  He was surprised to hear word from her when he was in the Landing that she was coming there to be with him.  He waited for her and once together he taught her common over their time together and love formed between them.  One day on a picnic Einkill proposed to his love and she accepted.  From then he moved around the lands quite a bit from Landing, down to Solhaven, up to Icemule Trace and over to the town of River's Rest.  He began to look for a house where they could live together and planned their wedding.  He raised his family's fame during this time and raised his own fame quite a bit and gained many friends.  Then he heard news of a festival back in his hometown of Vaalor and traveled back there.  Eager to see his old town again and the friends he had made there once again. He set off back over the Spine to return to somewhere he considered his home away from the Dwarven Halls.

Upon arriving at his old home, he saw many of his old friends and had a smile on his face as he and his fiancé parted ways to enjoy the festival.  He thought nothing could go wrong with the day when another old friend came running up to him with grave news.  A new area had been discovered at the festival and something had been found there.  Einkill hurried off with his friend climbed a muddy bank to discover his father's body.  Somehow even with all the time passed, the body had not decayed hardly at all.  Einkill thought him to still be alive even when he first saw it and dropped to his knees and hugged it.  When his father's arms did not return his hug though, he knew what he feared all these years to be true.  He stood with his face and spirits hung low.  He searched his father for signs up what had happened and found a note on him.  It was sealed with a symbol he did not know but it would appear would never reach it's intended recipient.  He opened the note and began to read...

"To my son Einkill,

It is time for you to learn the truth my son.  And if you are reading this then I never had the courage to tell you.  I am not your father.  I am someone who used to hunt with your father.  Your father died on a hunting trip long ago saving my life and asked me with his dying wish that I protect you.  Your real father was a great man names Wulferon Holderheck.  He was one of the greatest warriors the dwarven people ever had to offer.  He was also one of the best diplomats.  His fix of humor and seriousness in issues that mattered made him a friend to all people.  The majority of his gear was presents to him from different peoples.  You will find some of it here in town in his locker.  Other parts of it are in lockers throughout the land. I 'm sorry I did not get to tell you all this myself. I am sorry... my son.

Thonagas Thonbain"

Upon reading this, Einkill left his previous fathers body there with people that knew how to deal with it and took off for town.  He tore into the city hall like a madman on a mission and rushed to a curtained opening to finally find out about his real father and get some answers.  He opened the locker of his father to find a few items.  He found a wolf-hide mantle, a vultite great-axe, and a card in there.  He read the card and it read...

"This mantle was a present from the leader of the Grishknel Wolf Clan of the Giantman race for helping him to turn back the goblin scourge that had invaded his land.

This axe was a gift from my trainer in Zul Logoth when I reached my tenth train. It has been used ever since to kill the demons and creatures of these lands."

Einkill was confused at first.  Was this it?  After all this time there were two items and a card with a little description and the same seal on it to tell him of his real father?  But then he thought the card had been a gift in disguise.  It told of the leader of the Grishknel Wolf Clan and it told of a trainer in Zul Logoth.  If he could find them, maybe there would be more information on his father.  Einkill closed the locker and left in search of his fiancé at the festival.  He reached the festival grounds and searched all over for her.  When he could not find her, he sat himself down on a bench there to rest and think of where she might be.  He saw a slight glimmer out of the corner of his eye and looked over to find his fiancé's engagement ring that he had bought for her.  Under it was a note that simply read, "The forest can be my only love. I am sorry."  More downtrodden then ever, Einkill wondered back to town to try and clear his head.

Now it has been a few days and he knows his new mission.  To find out about his father and try and fill his boots as best he can.  He is bound by honor to the town of Vaalor and it's people.  While he may leave for a bit and try to find new information, he will always return to the town that he will forever call home.
