Character Upgrades

Fighter Upgrades:

Light Upgrade: Holy Knight -
HP: + 60
MP: + 25
Str: + 3
MagAtk: + 5
Special: Still has cover but gains Heal: may heal for 1/4 max HP once per battle.
Spells: May learn up to Level 3 White Magic spells and loses any previously learned Black Magic spells. Will learn a new spell every 3 levels and can learn Level 2 spells immediately after upgrade. Level 3 spells cannot be learned until all level 1 and 2 spells are known.

Dark Upgrade: Dark Knight -
HP: + 50
MP: + 30
Str: + 5
MagAtk: + 2
Special: Still has cover but gains Dark Slide: one attack dealing 2x damage but at a sacrifice of 1/10 your max HP.
Spells: May learn up to Level 3 Black Magic spells and loses any previously learned White Magic spells. Will learn a new spell every 3 levels and can learn Level 2 spells immediately after upgrade. Level 3 spells cannot be learned until all level 1 and 2 spells are known.

Black Mage Upgrades:

Both Upgrades: Black Magician -
HP: + 35
MP: + 25
Str: + 2
MagAtk: + 5
Special: Infinite Caster: Can use any one spell for 1/2 mp cost one time a battle.
Spells: May learn up to Level 11 Black Magic spells. Continues learning spells at the same rate as before.

White Mage Upgrades:

Both Upgrades: White Wizard -
HP: + 40
MP: + 20
Str: + 5
MagAtk: + 5
Special: Infinite Caster: Can use any one spell for 1/2 mp cost one time a battle.
Spells: May learn up to Level 11 White Magic spells. Continues learning spells at the same rate as before.

Red Mage Upgrades:

Both Upgrades: Red Sorceror -
HP: + 30
MP: + 15
Str: + 7
MagAtk: + 3
Special: Omega Caster: Can use any one spell for free one time a battle.
Spells: May learn up to Level 7 White and Black Magic spells. Continues learning spells at the same rate as before.

Thief Upgrades:

Light Upgrade: White Thief -
HP: + 25
MP: + 15
Str: + 6
MagAtk: + 2
Special: Robber: steals an item of his choice form the losers items only if he wins(only items that are able to be bought at stores).(still keeps the Initiative Ability)
Spells: Remain the same as before

Dark Upgrade: Ninja -
HP: + 25
MP: + 10
Str: + 10
MagAtk: + 1
Special: Blind Streak: Performs 2 attacks at the begginning of combat (this cancels out the Initiative ability as it is an improvement of it)
Spells: Remain the same as before

Dragoon Upgrades:

Light Upgrade: Holy Prince -
HP: + 60
MP: +20
Str: + 4
MagAtk: + 5
Special: Drain Lance: get back 1/4 of damage done. This may only be done once per battle. also the number of jumps increases to 4.
Spells: May now learn up to Level 3 White Magic spells at the same rate as before

Dark Upgrade: Demon Prince -
HP: + 50
MP: +25
Str: + 6
MagAtk: + 5
Special: Drain Lance: get back 1/4 of damage done. This may only be done once per battle. Also the number of jumps increases to 4.
Spells: May now learn up to Level 3 Black Magic spells at the same rate as before

Monk Upgrades:

Both Upgrades: Chakra Monk -
HP: + 40
MP: + 0
Str: + 8
MagAtk: + 0
Special: Double Slash: May choose 2 attacks to be critical hits during combat. These attacks cannot be blocked or reduced.
Spells: None

Guardian Upgrades:

Light Upgrade: Angel Guard -
HP: + 45
MP: + 10
Str: + 4
MagAtk: + 3
Special: Null +: nullifies any physical attack and counters for the damage dealt. Does not take up attack phase.
Spells: May learn up to Level 3 Black and White Magic Spells at the same rate as before.

Dark Upgrade: Hell Guard -
HP: + 40
MP: + 10
Str: + 5
MagAtk: + 2
Special: Null X: nullifies any magic attack and counters for the damage dealt. Does not take up attack phase.
Spells: May learn up to Level 3 Black and White Magic Spells at the same rate as before.

Chemist Upgrades:

MP: + 20
Str: + 2
MagAtk: + 4
Special: Healer: Can attack once and use 2 items for each turn.
Spells: May now learn up to Level 5 White Magic spells at the same rate as before.

Dark Upgrade: Dark Chemist -
HP: + 15
MP: + 25
Str: + 1
MagAtk: + 4
Special: Attack: Can attack twice and use 1 item for each turn.
Spells: May now learn up to Level 5 White Magic spells at the same rate as before.

Time Mage Upgrades:

Both Upgrades: Time Magician -
HP: + 20
MP: + 15
Str: + 3
MagAtk: + 5
Special: Chrono Trigger: Regens effect is doubled for the battle.
Spells: May now learn up to Level 11 Time Magic at the same rate as before.

Soldier Upgrades:

Light Upgrade: Heaven's Soldier -
HP: + 40
MP: + 20
Str: + 4
MagAtk: + 3
Special: Gunblade Str: + 10 (the Gunblade Strike remains the same) (keeps gunblade light)
Spells: May learn up to Level 3 White Magic Spells at the same rate as before.

Dark Upgrade: Hell's Soldier -

MP: + 15
Str: + 5
MagAtk: + 2
Special: Gunblade Str: + 10 (the Gunblade Strike remains the same) (keeps gunblade light)
Spells: May learn up to Level 2 Black Magic Spells at the same rate as before.

Engineer Upgrades:

Str: + 4
MagAtk: + 4
Special: May now use the Multi-Cast ability 2 times per combat.
