That's right, folks - I've begun converting our beloved Chrono Trigger to the amazing and unprecedented Chrono Cross battle/magic system. So far I've got the Innate Elements and Combination Techniques entirely done; I've yet to start on any of the rest. This is what I plan to have when I finish:
A note on the forthcoming Bracers & Rings page: I never really bought into the idea of this sort of adventurer wearing any kind of serious armour, so instead of wearing armour and helms, they wear enchanted bracers and rings. It's kind of like the defensive items in Final Fantasy VII - and VIII, if I remember right - for those of you who are familiar with it. I did a similar thing with the Gems - Gems are what were originally called Accessories; I decided to elabourate on them a bit and turn them into stones that you inserted into your bracers, Materia-style. They're all the same as you remember them, just with some different names. And of course, in keeping with the new system, you can wear two at once. (Remember that in Cross, while you technically can wear three "Accessories" at once, one of them is almost always a helmet. Or at least, that's how I usually do things... c.c )
Oh, and in case you were wondering, there is a reason for words in bold and italics. Bolded words are game concepts, ideas that will follow you throughout the game - for instance, Status-effects or Technique Points. Italics are for such things as Elements and Combination Techniques, things that are not stricty required (for instance) for the characters to fight effectively, but that are critical to your success.
