Quite possibly the most important aspect of gameplay, attributes determine what sort of character you'll play, if he's weak or strong, brave or semi-chickenheartedy, smart or stupid, and uses parallel construction or in order any sticks words he does.
There aren't nearly as many attributes as there are skills, and for good reason: I wanted the character creation sheet to fit on one page. Oh, have you seen the character creation page yet? Well rest assured, if you haven't, you will soon, and it'll be nothing like you're expectorating.
The traits are organized from the top of the character creation sheet to the bottom, in a particular order that YOU'LL never figure out.
Charisma, Charm, and Intelligence

This little trio is very important. Charisma and charm help you persuade friends and enemies by hook or by crook. Motivation encourages your allies to help you, while manipulation convinces your enemies to aid you. Intelligence is thrown in for good measeure, and helps your success on all skill tests, primarily ones under the "Intellectual" category.
Evade, Aim, and Dexterity

Evade, aim, and dexterity are all related, and rely on each other. Evade is the percentage of the time you miss being hit, aim is the percentage of the time you hit the enemy with a ranged attack, and dexterity is the average of the two. Dexterity is the base number that determines the probability that any attack will work, and also dictates the chance you'll succeed in disarming a trap.
Stamina, Health, and HP

Stamina, health, and HP are, amazingly enough, all related! Yes, you read that right, you can't have one without the others. Stamina dictates the number of turns you can fight before exhaustion kicks in and you must rest for 3 turns. Health determines your resistance to non-lethal poisons, sicknesses, diseases, and Chuck's chili. HP determines the amount of damage you can take before going to that Great Birdfeeder in the Sky.
Arm Strength, Leg Strength, and Overall Muscularosity

WOW! These three stats are even more related than the previous three sets! Arm strength determines the amount of damage you can do with your upper body, leg strength, the lower body, and just plain strength dictates the amount of base damage you can do(More on these stats in chapter 10 and 11...or the expansion pack)
Oh...oops...that's, all the attributes
