Bastard sword: Known also as the hand and a half sword for it's length. Though longer then a longsword it's shorter then a two handed sword, a mix of both. The bastard sword was made for the need of a more powerful hitting sword but the ability to use one hand to wield it. This sword packs more punch from it's weight then a longsword though it's slower and harder to control.

Broadsword: The broad sword is about the same length as a longsword, any where from three to four feet. Though the blade is thicker and heavier. A military sword used by foot soliders and heavy infantry. Effective for hack and slash but it's too heavy to thrust properly with just one hand.

Cane Swords: Though it is not exactly known where cane swords frist came from it is believed they were carried by hired assassins. At first it appears to be a normal walking stick of some type, but with a twist of the hand and a small pull the blade would be brought to bare. Normally the blades are about two and a half feet long, thin and only about an inch wide.

Claymore: The Claymore is a rather large sword. Wielded with two hands the blade is about four feet in length and very wide. The claymore is a power house sword, it's sheer weight coupled along with the length of the handle would give the wielder wide, sweeping arcs that would take down men in droves if wielded correctly.

Dwarven Warswords: Though it is normally odd to see a dwarf in battle with a sword they do carry them. The blades are are only slightly shorter then a longsword and are wider. Weight added to the blade allows for greater hacking power but rendering the thrust almost impossible. The Shortsword in dwarven make has a wider head at the top while thinner at the bottom. Making them great for thrusting and hacking. They to have weighted blades though are more balanced out to allow a better thrust.

Elven Warswords: A elven longsword is normally singled edged and slightly curved. The blade is thin, about an inch wide and very light. Made for swift and accurate slashes and thrusts, though it is known for being very ineffective against armor. The elven 'Soran' is a made something like a shortsword, the blade's odd shape giving it the ability to easily cleave, normally used against the head or neck of the target for effective use.

Falchion: The falchion is known through out the world as a martial arts sword. Normally dual wielded for awsome slashing and thrusting power the blade is known to be very deadly if wielded correctly. The blade on the sword is normally two feet long, three inches wide and about a third of an inch thick.

Flacata: This blade was made for cleaving and almost nothing else. The slightly bent and enlarged head made for cutting through most medium and lighter armors easily though the heavier armors are another story. This sword was origanlly made for cleaving the head open, the elves getting the idea for the 'Soran' from this.

Hoplite: The hoplite sword was orignally made from a longsword. The 'head' of the sword made wider so that it has better thrusting power. This is mostly a fast sword, made for quick but deadly stabbing motions.

Longsword: The longsword was one of the earliest swords made. The blade normally three feet in length, three inches at the base and slowly narrowing to the point at the top. Excelent for slashing and thrusting the longsword was the ideal sword for many ages and is still the most commonly used amongst them all.

Rapier: The rapier was made with one thing in mind: Fast and deadly stabs. The blade is light, fast and flexible. Known for it's speed it makes it an effective weapon in fencing but against armor one has to be deadly accurate to be able to do any harm to the foe.

Sabre: The sabre is normally wieled by mounted units. It's curved blade making it a great slashing weapon though not the best for thrusting. It's heavier then it looks so that it adds more cutting power to the blade.

Scimitar: This curved blade is a favorite of the druids. The length of a longsword but curved to give better slashing abilities. The tapered tip also allows it to be thrusted effectively though it does limit it to a point. The blade is normally about three feet long, one and a half to two inches wide and about a centimeter thick.

Shortsword: The short sword was the earliest sword known to furres. The blade being slightly longer and wider then a dagger, normally about a foot in length. It is usually used for thrusting but it may hack effectively against unarmored targets. The light blade is light and easy to use, ideal for beginners.

Great sword: Also known as a 'two hander' or 'Zwehandr' the great sword is normally six feet or longer, anywhere from two to six inches wide in the blade and extreamly heavy. Two hands is needed to wield this weapon properly, or to even hold it at all. The weapon is slow in combat though is very effective if wielded by a skilled warrior.

Heron Marked Blade: Heron marked blades are normally the mix of elven and dwarven smiths. The mixing of many different types of metal to produce a sword that would never dull, extreamly hard to break and very light. Deadly in battle it is known to be a rare find, only made by the masters of master blacksmiths. Though mainly made for slicing the heron marked blade can be thrusted but with some difficulty for it's length.
