Writer: Nici

Writers Age: Over 21 and counting (tick, tock)

Characters Age: 24 years old

Nature: Human

APPEARANCE: Delaney weighs in at a whopping 95 lbs (usually sopping wet) and is around 5 foot tall. She has pale skin, emerald green eyes and hair of a red so pure it almost resembles blood. Her features are tiny and delicate. She has a smattering of freckles across her shoulders and along her nose which she throughtly detests. She has a huge wardrobe of very smart and sensible daywear along with a few stylish evening gowns.

PERSONALITY: Not a shy, shrinking female in the least. Much to her father's chagrin, she adores studying anything she can get her hands on, with a particular weakness for philosophy and anthropology. Since her cotillion at age 18, her father has been trying to marry her off and she's been thwarting him at every avenue. She'd become quite competent and confident running her father's household and honestly didn't. see what the big *deal* is about marriage.

STRENGTHS/WEAKNESSES: She's extremely inquisitive, which can be a strength or weakness depending on how the curiousity is applied. She's not one to beat around the bush on certain subjects, coddle or put up with anyone who's condescending or doesn't use common sense. She can, when it's required, be more than diplomatic and charming however--a shrew she's not.

HISTORY: Delaney was born into the Nouveau Riche of San Francisco California. Her father, John Elroy Quinn made some darn good investments in both mines and in oil and he's invested it well. Delaney's mother died when she was born. Her father never specifically held it against the girl, but he certainly wasn't overly affectionate either. Still, Delaney had the best schooling and almost anything she wanted. She wanted to learn, to find *adventure*, much to her father's horror. After her coming out, he expected her to be quickly married into a good family. Delaney, never one to mince words or put up with foolish compliments, quickly scared away every suitor turned her way.

Finally, her father had had enough. She would marry someone of his choosing immediately. Frightened that she'd be thrust into some horrible marriage, she decided running away was smarter. With her ladies maid Adele, the girl packed her bags, gathered what funds she had and booked passage to England.

Now, she has to figure out how one well bred young lady, with a ladies maid and no income is going to survive in the thriving metropolis...
