Sammael was the student of Zaphikel when he was younger. Zaphikel taught him how to fight with a sword when he still had Nanatsuaya. Even though he was already blind then, he taught "Sammy-kun", like he calls him, very well. Once Sammael did not keep his mind on the training and Zaphikel cut him. It left a scar on Sammael`s left cheek that looks like an "X". Zaphikel wanted him to keep the scar to always remind him that when he fights, he has to be in the fight with all his heart and soul.
Sammael left Zaphikel and the Thrones for a while and went to Assiah. There he searched for new ways of sword fighting and trained a lot. He learned the different fighting styles from different sword masters and today he is maybe the angel with the most knowledge of sword fighting.
Sammael came back to serve his "sensei" and to take his place at Zaphikel`s side again. His order is and always was to protect Zaphikel and to look after him.
Sammael looks really cute. He`s not very tall and more thin than packed with muscles. But don`t fall for it. In a fight, there are not many people who are as dangerous as him.
But no matter what, Sammael is a very nice guy when you`re not one of his enemies. He has a great sense of humor that is similar to Zaphikel`s. He likes to share a few hours with his sensei, drinking tea and talking about the past.
Sammael also has something that is unique in Atziluth: An accent. You won`t find anybody who has ever heard Sammael speak without this accent. But where he got it from, noone knows.
