Kira is the son of an upper class demon, who once tried to start a war with the demons of hell to get the control over hell. He lost his fight and his life and his last wish was that his son, Kira, should win the war for him and take control over hell. Kira, however, prefered to leave hell and to live in the human world for a while. For the things his father had done, he was long time wanted as a criminal, so he tried to hide between the humans on earth.
One day he found a crystal like stone with a bright shining light coming out of it. It was the soul of an angel who was trapped in there, imprisoned by a mighty dark witch of the underworld. The soul thought he was a human beeing and begged him for help. He should find the great sword Nanatsuaya and give it back to the high angels to help them fight against the underworld. Kira found the sword with the help of the soul. But he had his own plans. He destroyed the crystal and the soul within it. He learned to control the sword without having any angelic powers. His idea was to use it against the people of his own race, the heirs of his father who still tried to get control over hell.
His wish is to give back the power of the underworld to its right master. He fought demons and killed them to stop the revolution in hell. Even though, Kira looks like a human and acts like an ordinary college kid, he has great powers. He has dark wings and the power to burn out others flesh. With Nanatsuaya, he is also able to kill high demons and angels.
Kira is a nice guy. He doesn`t like fighting very much, he only does what he thinks is the right thing. He wants to be a good servant to his master (which he never saw) and wants to undo the sins of his father in the past, so he one day will be able to go back to his world and live a normal life instead that of an traitor.
Kira has a kind of immortality as long as he has Nanatsuaya. He can heal even the deepest wounds in this body. He normally wears a black coat to hide the sword underneath it.
