USF-009 Saber, though lightly armored it more then makes up for it. This ground breaking mekton was created by a joint cooperation between Apex electronics and Quick Silver Corp., this resulted in the most advanced mekton of its time. Easily the fastest and most agile mekton, period. Maxing out its magna boosted fusion enhanced free radical reactor it can approach speeds even space fighters don’t like. Though not bedded down with weapons, its main weapon, the 1.5 GHz Beam Rifle is a ground breaking weapon in its self. Able to fire three bursts of energy each one equal to a standard 1.5 GHz Beam Cannon is in its self a feat to be proud of, but the Saber houses a powerful enough reactor to maintain itself during the weapons immense energy drain. With the V-Max booster system the Sabers reactor can be bumped into critical mass giving an even bigger boost of power. The Saber also uses a new control system that allows the pilot to be able to see everything going on around him. Given the nickname “Hornet” by the early test pilots due to the buzzing noise it produced at top speed, the Saber is known throughout the Unified Space Federation mekton pilots as the pinnacle symbol of power and speed in all of space.

 

NOTE: Though very high-quality, it is also a pain in the ass to repair and maintain. Due to the high speeds it hits it is frequently in need of an overhaul. The high gees it places on the pilot and mekton causes down time to be almost half the time the mekton is in service.
