The
Harpies were three sisters in Greek mythology. They were horrible creatures,
part woman, part bird, and part snake. Their only purpose was to torment the
mortals around them. They would steal food and starve their victims, allowing
them just enough to stay alive. They would steal children and livestock, and
even torment gods at the bidding of another.
