Appearance: Despite her age, it is quite evident that in her youth Lila was a beautiful woman. Her hair retains it's natural brown color however it is lightened and whatever signs of gray hair appear are left untreated, as she is loathe to cover up what she calls the `natural beauty of aging' with unnatural procedures. For this same reason, Lila, unlike many of her socialite counterparts has refused the idea of going under the knife in order to `look younger.'

Personality: Lila is a very classy, composed woman. She is very graceful and speaks with reservation when necessary yet she can also show great candor. Her opinion carries great weight with those who know and love her possibly because no matter how she feels or how differing her opinion may be from those around her, she never allows that to stand in the way of the relationship. The love she has for those around her is unconditional and as she is commonly found saying `there is always room at (her) table.'

Family: Husband: Andrew Buchanan (deceased); Daughters: Mercedes Buchanan, Sydney Litrell (deceased), and Charlotte Buchanan. Sons: Connor Buchanan and Aidan Buchanan. Grandsons: Tyler Buchanan, Griffin Litrell, and Hunter Litrell. Granddaughters: Tatum Litrell, Cassidy Litrell, and Avery Litrell. Son-in-Law: Declan Litrell.

History: Lila York was born in Surrey, England to a former RAF pilot and an army nurse. At the age of 16, following her father's untimely death, Lila pursued modeling as a means of helping to support her mother and her brothers and sisters. She chased this career all the way to California where, at the age of 20, she met, fell in love and married a young lawyer named Andrew Buchanan. With Andrew's salary to support her and her children, Lila sent all the money from her modeling career to her mother which supported the family until Lila's siblings came of age.

Lila and Andrew's relationship was classic for the time in that they were both in it for life and ahead of its time in regards to the high regard Andrew held his wife's opinion. The scandal surrounding which of her daughters would wed Declan Litrell nearly tore Andrew, then a state senator, and Lila's family apart. The two weathered the storm and managed to hold their family together despite the indiscretions of both Sydney and Mercedes. Lila shares Griffin and Mercedes' suspicion that Sydney's death may not have been `just an accident'

Following the death of Andrew, to keep herself active and busy, Lila opened up a restaurant named after herself and spends much of her time there.
