Giancarlo Dimedeci

Image: Giancarlo appears as a dapper Italian aristocrat with very fine features.  He generally dresses in conservatively cut suits of the most expensive fabrics.  His eyes are maroon in color and considered extraordinarily unnerving to those who first meet him.  His voice however is considered enchanting and is well-suited for public speaking often utilized for lectures.

History:  Descended from Giuliano Bevisangue, the twelfth-century Tuscan warrior as well as the Machiavelli and the Visconti families, Giancarlo Dimedeci was a historian in Florence and curator of the Capponi family library.  With multiple degrees in history, theology and art, he was the most prominent scholar of the arts Florence had seen in centuries.  All that attention earned him the embrace from the local Toreador, snatching him out from under the noses of the Lasombra as well as the Giovanni, who were considering embracing out of family in this case.

Giancarlo served a variety of administrative positions in the Camarilla, through various cities (including St. Petersburg with the then-Tremere primogen Nicholae, in whom he helped cultivate an interest in Dante.  It was on Nicholae’s recommendation later on, that Giancarlo achieved his current position).  Whip to three clans, seneschal to a handful of princes and serving twice as Toreador Primogen, he transferred to Vistalki to serve under Xenia, the Toreador primogen.  He has proven to be an efficient and knowledgeable whip with a voracious appetite for knowledge as well as an eerie charisma.

Giancarlo is respected amongst the local Toreadors, though the embrace of a scholar rather than an artist per se has caused some consternation amongst the more traditional members of the clan. Giancarlo has proven to be worth his weight in gold.  He now serves a variety of uses for Xenia. Due to her young embrace, he often  serves as her representative and plays the part of her legal guardian to the mortal world who would judge her solely by her outward appearance.  This has led to many jokes that Giancarolo is the “daddy” of a Methuselah.

He also serves as her translator, being well-versed in a multitude of languages and scholar, helping Xenia adjust to the new society she is a part of as well as bringing her up to speed on several centuries worth of art and politics.  He tends to her affairs (keeping the clubs in order, reminding her of her appointments), and fulfills the position of whip exceedingly well.  Often he can be seen giving lectures at the various museums on subjects ranging from Medieval history to Noddist Lore and History of Renaissance history and in an odd twist, also happens to be a master chef and often times hires himself out to various Kindred who are hosting mortal events.

Roleplaying Hints: For you, an insatiable appetite for knowledge fills your nights.  Art, history, music, all of it appeals and while you are considered an expert in all these things, you plan on taking advantage of immortality to indulge in even more esoteric scholarly fields. Auspex allows you to roam in the world in astral form, learning from the things you encounter. Xenia depends on you and though occasionally her unfamiliarity with the workings of the modern world frustrates you, you are far too urbane and cultured to ever let it show.  Grace in all things and in the end, culture, knowledge…and voracious cunning will see you through the Final Nights.
