Surprise, surprise, Barbie finds herself in another action packed adventure, this time she is a "world class explorer", searching for the lost gems to unlock the secrets of the mystic mirror. In this game, you will find Barbie jumping bottomless pits of death, sometimes on floating platforms going from one end of the pit to the other. But wait! If you happen to plunge to the bottom, Barbie gives it that "never give up spirit" and magically appears at the edge of the pit to give it another try.
As I raced through the endless paths of the jungle, I managed to roll myself in front of a stampede of elephants. Showing no pain, I transformed into a cloud and reappeared beside the herd, virtually untouched.
Not only has Barbie incorporated skills picked up by solving crime, scuba diving, rock climbing and whatever else she does, but she has picked up some new abilities in Barbie Explorer. The ability to not die, for example. With all her powers combined, she is the ultimate explorer and unlocking the secrets of the "Mystic Mirror" should be a breeze for this super human beauty.
Obviously this game was targeted at children, but since I am an almighty teenage game critic I reserve the right to stomp it into the ground. If you are a parent, consider buying this for your seven year old daughter instead of Silent Hill or Resident Evil or if you are the kind of person who still has Barbies at the age of 15 and enjoy making Ken and Barbie meet and do the nasty in Barbie's pink convertible, you might get a kick out of this.
