Wolf Pack Origins

.

.

The Wolf Pack actually has several origins that blended together over the years, into a cohesive mass. I've split them up for the sake of reference.

BattleTech Origins

In Clan Invasion, there was among the Clan Wolf, a particular Star named the Wolf Pack, lead by Star Captain Aidan Mesad. Distinguished on Tukkayyid, for being one of the few units to survive the almost whole-sale slaughter, and one of the fewer units to adapt enough to survive, the Wolf Pack was rewarded for its service by being enlarged to a Trinary, and by the end of 3058, a single Cluster.

When the divisive split occurred in Clan Wolf, Star Captain Aidan chose not to follow Wolves-in-Exile Khan Phelan into the Inner Sphere, but could not stand the Crusader tactics and attitude of the new Wolf Clan Khan Vlad. He staged his own miniature Exodus, taking with him his entire Cluster in one fell swoop, and left the Inner Sphere and Clan Occupation Zones, for the unknown worlds beyond explored space.

Soon after the Wolf Pack left, there came word among the Periphery Worlds in Clan space of an unknown attacking Clan, behaving in similar fashion to the Clans, when they had invaded the Inner Sphere in 3050. New, unknown, and extremely deadly designs, even to Clan 'Mechs, began to ambush units on the outlying worlds. The Wolf Pack had returned after a short abscence. As a small, new, but powerful Clan in itself.

Recently, encounters with the Wolf Pack have revealled some startling information:
-They don't seem to be intent on invading Terra; they act like Wardens, but they willingly fight all comers in combat.
-Communication between off-world units has yielded an unusual gem: the Wolf Pack seems to be in a desperate battle against a new foe. Who this new foe is, has not been recovered as yet. But references to some of the Wolf Pack's eerily biological looking weapon designs as being "Back-engineered" or "Recovered", suggest that this enemy is using a technology quite different than that within the IS, and even the Clans.
-If this new enemy is using actual biological-based Battlemechs (or the equivalent of), then... Humanity may face a threat far greater than the Clans. Even the Clans themselves are at risk.

Robotech Origins

The Wolf Pack formed out of the shards of the First Robotech war, as a squad of elite mechamorph pilots. They stayed that way, as a unit, through both the Sentinels campaign, and the Third Invid War (Note: This is NOT Col. Wolff's Wolff Pack.). Using the newest, experimental mecha, they were one of the strongest forces of the REF and the Resistance. Only the Skull Squadron was any stronger.

Palladium RPG/Rifts/Custom game origins The WP was a secret organization of honorable mercenaries that grew to massive proportions in the Galactic War. They would observe the aces in ALL armies, and when they saw something unique, recruited them, for their own mercenary campaigns. The WP owes no allegiance to any side of the war, and will gladly fight on any side, as the spirit moves them.

They also do not operate from a single world. Rather, they have an extensive matrix/network of massive ships, all warships, to house their warmachine, and their tech is beyond compare to anything known, utilizing energy-absorbant/regenerative armour, refractive shields, and deadly, unknown weapons.

"Got any other questions?"

"Huh. Not a techie, are ya. . ."
