Character Creation Guidelines
Here at the Millenium RPG, we aren't too particular when it comes to character creation. There are a few restrictions, and those will be covered in this section.
Before reading this document, and before planning your character, please read this special note:
Show Characters
Thank you. Now, just to get things rolling, I think I'll start by posting a character template. Since we don't require any one template, this is merely a suggestion, in other words, it's the one I use. Most of the other RPGers have completely different styles of character sheet. Feel free to use mine or make one of your own. It basically only needs to include the character's name, faction, alternate mode, stats (see my template), how your character got into the RPG, and a listing of the weapons. If you're having trouble feel free to ask for help on how your character got into our humble dimension.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Name: (Self-explainatory. The Character's name.)
Aliases: (Anything else besides his/her name that the character is sometimes called.)
Gender: (Male or Female?)
Age: (This is trickier. Your character's name in Stellar Cycles (1 Stellar Cycle = 1 Year). The Average Cybertronian middle-aged bot is about 400 Stellar Cycles.)
Faction: (See my note at the bottom of this page for an explaination of the factions.)
Alliegence: (Any smaller groups or affiliations your character belongs to/has.)
Primary Function: (What does your character DO?)
Rank: (Feel free to ignore this one. It's just an indication of where you fit into the command structure. Ask for help if you want to use it.)
Type: (This is tricky, there are MANY types. See my note on types at the bottom of this page.)
Alternate Mode: (What does your character transform into?)
Secondary Mode: (If your character has a third mode, what is it?)
Size: (Preferably your character's height. But, feel free to say "Basic" or "Large" or whatever.)
Theme Song: (Just a fun thing. What song, if any, would best fit your character? What would s/he play when charging into battle?)
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION (Here you basically describe or post a picture of each mode and the Transformation it takes to get from that mode to the next mode listed.)
Alternate Mode:
Transformation:
Robot Mode:
Transformation:
Secondary Mode:
NOTES
Personality: (Describe your character's personality; how does s/he interact with others? Authority figures? Enemies? How does your character act when alone? What drives them? Etc...)
History: (What has your character experienced prior to his/her entrance into the RPG? HOW does your character wind up in our humble RPG's timeline/Earth?)
Specialties: (Just a short list; what does your character do best?)
FIGHTING ABILITY (All are on a scale of one to ten. There is no stat maximum, but we expect you to use good judgement and will not approve a character who is godlike without reason.)
Strength: (How much can your character lift? How hard can s/he punch?)
Speed: (How fast can your character run/drive/fly/react?)
Agility: (How agile is your character? How easily can they dodge/pull of acrobatics?)
Skill: (How good is your character at their function?)
Firepower: (How much heat is your character packing? NOTE: No matter HOW MANY sticks your character has, its STILL 1 Firepower.. Sorry, couldn't resist.. Use Judgement.)
Courage: (How courageous is your character? How much does it take for him/her to panic?)
Intelligence: (How SMART is your character? This can be ingenuity or shear intelligence.)
Stamina: (How long can your character go without refueling? How much pain can s/he take? How much pumelling does it take to break their armor?)
Aim: (How good aim does your character have? Bombardment weapons do not require aim.)
WEAPONS AND EQUIPMENT (Yeah, here's where you list that heat you're packing, as well as any extra abilities/pieces of equipment you may have aquired/own.)
Okay, now it's time for those notes I promised:
NOTE: On Factions:
This RPG is... Not typical when it comes to Factions. The factions available to any player are:
Autobot/Cybertron
Predacon/Destronger
Destron
Vehicon
Maximal
Human
However, things aren't as simple as they seem. Here is a brief description of each faction:
Autobot/Cybertron:
This is your basic "good-guy" faction. "Cybertron" is simply the Japanese name for "Autobot", which is prefered by some players. You can list yourself as either Autobot OR Cybertron if you choose this faction. The vast majority of bots belonging to this faction have vehicular based alternate modes, and all are G1 Sized. This means that they're roughly the size of the vehicle they turn into. If they turn into an animal, then they're automatically a really BIG version of that animal. Like say... As big as a car? See where I'm going? This is basically like any of the Autobots from G1. The leader of this faction is currently Inferno Convoy.
Predacon/Destronger:
This is your basic "bad-guy" faction. Destronger is simply the came from Car-Robots for Predacons. Like with Autobots/Cybertrons, when choosing this as your faction, you may list yourself as either Destronger or Predacon. This faction is a mix of Vehicle and Beast alternate modes. And the sizes in this faction range from G1 Sized to BeastWars Sized. BeastWars sized bots are roughly the size of a human. The leader of this faction is currently Gigatron.
Vehicon:
This is another "good-guy" faction. The difference between the Vehicons and Autobots is their methods. The Vehicons are known for a more "militaristic" outlook. They tend to use more force in their missions. They don't really get along well with the Autobots for the most part. These are mostly G1 sized bots. The leader of this faction is currently Warrior Prime.
Destron:
This is another "bad-guy" faction. The difference between the Destron Empire and the Predacons is again outlook and methods. The Destrons believe that the Cybertronian (Transformer) race must be purified, and see any Cybertronian (Transformer) who ISN'T a Destron as impure and deserving of death. A real friendly group. This faction often concentrates more on character development than fighting. Mostly G1 sized bots. The leader of this faction is currently Fight.
Maximal:
This is ANOTHER "good-guy" faction. Like the Maximals from BeastWars. They're ALL BeastWars Sized. This faction is really only one member. Seriously, there are NOT many Maximals. Feel free to be one, but you won't really have a base. Of course, you could always just hang with the Autobots. That IS allowed. You can be a Maximal and simply live and work at Autobot Base. This faction has no leader.
Human:
This is a neutral faction. Most of the humans in the game belong to a corporation known as "Tra-Tech Enterprises" which is controlled by the mysterious Mr. Razzi. Humans belonging to Tra-Tech sometimes pilot Mecha or tanks or other vehicles. Feel free to ask about this in the General Forum.
NOTE: On Types:
The Transformers mythos has QUITE A FEW "Types". We accept ALL of them. I really CAN'T list them all because the list would go on FOREVER. You are also free to MAKE UP your OWN Types. Therefore, any questions concerning Types should be asked on the General Forum.
Okay, now for the actual rules:
Over the years this RPG has been in opperation, there have been a few things that have been overdone or abused. Generally these have been restricted by the moderation/administration. These are reflected here in these rules:
1. No more new Convoys/Primes. (We have more than enough authentic ones, not to mention all our "sort-of" Convoys/Primes.)
2. NO NEW FACTIONS. (We have enough as it is, PICK one of the factions we have available.)
3. Major upgrades must be submitted for approval. (Smaller upgrades are okay, but if you're going to reformat your character, the new version of your character needs to be approved BEFORE you introduce the new version.)
4. NO GODS. (No you can NOT have Primus or Unicron. No you can NOT have a character who has been upgraded to the power level of a god.)
5. No City Transformers. (As much fun as Metroplex and Trypticon are, if we let ONE person have one, then EVERYONE would want one. That's BAD. Therefore, we don't allow any City Transformers at all.)
Character Suggestions:
1. No more new Gestalts. (We have a LOT of these. If you try to get a Gestalt, expect it to actually be LOOKED OVER. That means you have to make it good. And you have to have proven that you can handle one responsibly.
2. Keep the number of characters to 8. (Yes, I know it's fun to have 80 or so characters running around, but, its hard for the players/mods/admins to keep track or everyone's characters as it is. It is suggested that you keep your number of characters to a minimum. We'll all thank you for it ^_^.)
Conclusion:
That's it. Congradulations, you read it all the way through. You'll be better for it, I assure you. Please post your character in the Technical Specifications Forum and wait for a mod/admin to look it over. Once your character is approved, contact a moderator either in the topic in which you posted your character or over e-mail and ask about introducing your character. They'll be glad to help. It gets easier every time :)
On a final note: Most of the Players/Mods/Admins in the Millenium RPG have MSN Messenger, I recommend you get this too and post your Screen Name for ease of communication. Thank you!
