How to get to ancient forest WITHOUT a Black, Green or Gold chocobo...
You need the Highwind. First find Ultimate Weapon (if you haven't fought him yet from the airship he'll be at the waterfalls near Junon) attack him for about 8,000 damage and he'll escape and you'll be back on the world map. Follow and fight him everywhere he goes until he gets to Cosmo Canyon. When there fight him he'll finnish off by casting Shadow Flare (hope it hits someone with enemy skill command materia) and on the world map he'll self-destruct giving you masses of Ap, Gil and Exp. You can now walk up the crater and up to the forest. After the fight you'll also get Cloud's ultimate weapon... 'Ultima Weapon'
