A Brief Summary of My Existence

After much thought and deliberation, I have concluded that the only way to keep myself from letting this page fade into internet obscurity (like all my others!) is to add something that requires constant updates. Hence, my first blog has come to be! Updates will appear sporaticly, or whenever I have something interesting to write about.

And now, the latest entry:

Sunday, Jul 25/04, 12:17pm
Today, I woke up to a cold that was slightly worse than when I went to sleep. Stuffed up and tired (despite of 10 hours sleep!), I'm trying to build up the energy to get ready for work. I hope it's not very busy today, because I'm feeling pretty lazy. Yesterday wasn't too bad. I chugged 2 litres of OJ in an attempt to stave off the cold I so joyfully awoke to this morning, and my mom dropped off a couple of sandwichs from Arby's. They were fucking amazing! I love Arby's, but the closest one to here is in Moncton, New Brunswick. My folks just happened to be over there and decided to bring me back some grub, which was much appreciated. Well, time to find some clean clothes and get my ass to work.

I have returned, finally, to the page I swore not to negelect, then did just that! Now, to fill you in on the, um, past 3 1/2 months! A lot of crazy shit's happened, but I'll give you the short version; I moved into Thomas' place, Adrian moved to some weird pirate-town, and nic moved into a tent. Everything else is pretty much details. Anyway, all the excitement of writing my plog has left me pretty much exhuasted. More updates to come soon!

Hey! My first update since last week, and that one was pretty lame. Anyway, I'll try to sum up the past week for you. Wednesday night we went to Baba's for some pitchers of green beer, and to celebrate St. Paddy's day. I got drunk, some chick groped my arm on the patio, and I had chinese food afterwards. What more could a guy ask for? Thursday night, Athena came over and locked her keys in her car. We spent hours trying to get in, but to no avail. So we wound up sitting around all night getting baked. Chevy managed to get into her car in the morning, so all was good. Friday I worked, then just chilled out at home. Work seemed so long on Saturday, as I eagerly awaited the infamous "March of Doom". After work, I came home and prepared for the evening by rolling some fatties for the par-tay. When I got to the party, I soon noticed that the turn-out was much lower than our previous engagements. Still a healthy number, but the crowd was fairly thin. Thankfully, the party was still pretty rockin, so all was good. I spent Sunday morning recovering from Saturday night partyin, and the rest of Sunday recovering from turkey dinner at my parent's place. Big dinners have a way of making me very lazy, and this was no exception. My laziness carried over into Monday, so I'll I really did yesterday was sit in front of the ole comp all day, and get some groceries. Today, I eagerly await the delivery of my income tax cheque, which my father should be taking to me at some point today. Anyway, I should be getting cleaned up and dressed, just in case he does show up soon. Later all!

It was recently brought to my attention by my good friends Pepper & Adrian that my website has not been updated in quite some time. Apparently, I've been slacking off lately, as this is the first update I've done in a week. If it's any consolation, the past week was pretty boring, and nothing important happened, at least not that I can remember anyway. I'm not really feelin that great today, so I'm gonna go lie down now.

Whoa! Look's like I got a little lazy on the blog here for a few days, so I'll bring you up to date. My ear is still feelin pretty crappy. Me and Ben went to Kandis's place on Friday night. Some folks paid a visit to Uncle Sid, while I was content to roll up some doobs. That's pretty much all I've done since then. I haven't really felt like doing a lot lately, so the past few days have been pretty boring, though maybe a little interesting at the same time. I spent the entire day yesterday playing Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicals. It's a pretty good game so far. My only beef is that after a while you have to re-play the earlier levels, and there is very little change to these upon re-entry. Maybe one different monster to fight, and that's pretty much it. A little dissappointing, but maybe it'll get better. I'm feeling like I should be doing something constructive today, like cleaning up a bit. I don't think the Apt's been cleaned in over a week, so it's starting to get kinda nasty. Anyway, that's all for now.

Friday, Mar 5/04, 9:38pm
Whew! What a week! I've been sick since Tuesday with a bad cold, and on Wednesday I woke up with an ear infection! So I spent Wednesday night in some pretty intense ear-pain, feelin like my head was about to explode. So I called my mom to see if she knew how I could stop this excrutiating pain. Apparently, the best thing to do is to stick cotton balls in your ears. Not being fortunate enough as to actually have any cotton balls, I was forced to resort to wadded up toilet paper, held in place with a band-aid! Sex-ay! I was skeptical at first, thinkin that my mother may have chosen this moment of weakness to humiliate me, but it actually works! The next morning it didn't hurt quite so bad, but that and my cold kept me from work for the day.

Tuesday, Mar 2/04, 12:51pm
Last night the crew once again ventured to Melons for some cheap drinks and good times. I found the cheap drinks easy enough, but the good times eluded me. Maybe it's because I've been pretty bummed-out lately, but I just couldn't seem to see the positive in anything last night. I spent most of the night sitting quietly, drinkin my drinks, and thinking. I know, it's a dangerous passtime. After the bar closed, everyone else went too Kandis's place. I decided to take a walk around town and try to find somewhere to get something to eat before heading home. Town was very empty last night. I only saw 2 people the whole time I was out, and only a couple of cars. There were no restaurants open downtown, so I decided to make the trek up the ave to Subway, which to my knowledge was still open 24hrs a day. So after a long, cold walk, I was greeted by a dark, empty, and obviously CLOSED Subway. Apparently, their hours of operation changed quite some time ago. Left with a growling stomach and no other options, I placed an order at the drive-thru window at Burger King, and sat down on a very cold bench to eat my soon to be very cold meal. After that, I decided to take a taxi home. The taxi stand, however, choose this exact moment to just not answer their phone. Wow! Could this night actually get worse than this? So, feeling dejected and cold, I started my walk home. After a little while, I came to a payphone and decided to try my horrible luck again. This time I was actually able to get a cab! The high point of my evening! I got home and had a piece of the cheesecake nic made. It wasn't quite as good as the last one, but it was still very satisfying. Then, I stumbled upstairs to bed. This morning I awoke with my usual self-inflicted headache. As I groggily walked my self to the bathroom, I felt something cold and squishy under my foot. I looked down to see my foot dead-center in a pile of dog puke. I'm telling you, it's a real waker-upper. After washing off my foot, I went downstairs to sit in front of my computer where no more bad things could possibly happen. Then I received an email....... telling me that I'm getting $1000 back on my income tax!!! Oh yeah! The light at the end of the tunnel has finally arrived. Now that my happy feeling has returned, I'm gonna spend the rest of the day giving thanks to unexpected money, and how it always seems to pop up when I least expect it.

Well, there's nothin quite like a day filled with salvia smokin, beers, pool, and some deadly resin-coated joints! That's what the scene was yesterday, and it was good. Everything started off at Kanidis's apartment, where Adrian, Kandis, and me smoked a bunch of salvia. It was my first time really trying it, and it was quite different then what I was expecting. Dana and Steph stopped by, which was pretty cool since I haven't talked to either of them in quite some time. Kandis had to work at 5:00pm, so Adrian and I relocated to Adrian's place. Adrian's brother Robin stopped by, and the three of us and pepper went to Dooleys. We hung out for a bit, shot some pool, had some brews and some pizza, all courtesy of Robin. We owe you one man! Afterwards, we went back to Adrian's place, where Adrian became enveloped in some cutesy-wootsey talk with his new interest. Robin took off after a bit, and me, Vince and Adrian, got very baked and mellowed out to some tunes. I went home at 5:30am for some much needed shut-eye. Tonight, the crew is heading to Melon's for another cheap-drink adventure. In the meantime, I'm doing some long over-due laundry while I relax until I decide what to make to eat.

Sunday, Feb 29/04, 12:05am
Man, talk about a boring Saturday night. All I've done so far tonight is order-in some KFC (which was quite good!) and watch hockey. And to think I was hoping for some excitement! Anyway, writing this is only making me bored right now, so I'm gonna stop.

Saturday, Feb 28/04, 11:47am
Mmmm.... there really isn't anything better then having to wake up on Saturday morning, except maybe pulling out my toe nails with rusty pliers! I would much rather still be asleep, but what can ya do?. After work last night I went over to Adrian's where he, pepper, vince, chevy, elizabeth, and a couple of her friends were chillin out and knockin back a few cold ones. We didn't really do a whole lot except sit around, talk and listen to music, but I needed it, 'cause I was sorta in a bad mood when I got home from work, and unexpected plans always make me feel better. One of elizabeth's friends was passed out from the time I got there til the time I left, so we tried to draw a moustach on her, but she kept waking up every time we tried. I got home around 2, had a bite to eat, and went to bed. Not usual weekend material, but perhaps tonight will be a little more exciting. I haven't made any plans, so I'm kinda hoping something just comes up. Well, it's time to get ready for work! Yay!

Friday, Feb 27/04, 10:15am
Hmm, where to start.... actually, this week was pretty boring, with the exception of Tuesday night. Me and pepper had just left T&C with the intention of trying to find some people to visit, as we were very bored. On our way to Kandis & Krista's place, we ran into Krista in front of Dooleys. Apparently, her and Kandis, Julie, and Lee were out celebrating her B-day, so pep and I decided to join in the festivities. So after a few games of pool and one expensive beer ($5.85 after tip!!!), we stepped outside for a puff while Krista went home for her bank card. Lee got yelled at by some omniscient force while doing some chin-ups on the max-headroom bar at the parkade. Then it was off to Melons for some $1.50 drinks. You'd be surprised how drunk you can get for $20! Pepper's roommate Vince showed up after a bit and joined in our alcohol-induced fun. A while later Lee and I stepped out to spark one up, and borrowed a light from a guy I can only remember as "The Friendly Stranger", or so I dubbed him. Afterwards, me and lee went back to the bar and had some more drinks with everyone. By around midnight, Julie was in pretty rough shape, and the bartender told us she had to go. Julie claimed that she had no money for a cab, so we decided to take her to Kandis's place. Julie wasn't very cooperative, and didn't like to idea of me and pepper dragging her out of the bar. That didn't stop us though! We'd barely gotten around the corner from the bar when Julie decided she wanted to go back to the bar. I thwarted her attempts by throwing her over my shoulder and carrying her the rest of the way to the apartment. She didn't like this much either, and was quite vocal about it, which got us some pretty strange looks from passers by. After we got to Kandis's, and Julie was safe on the couch, pepper went back to the bar for a while, and I rewarded myself by packing a few bowls. Eventually Kandis, and then later Krista, came home. Krista and I had a very interesting discussion, covering such topics as taxidermy, religion, the meaning of life, and the universe as a whole. Then I called a cab that arrived almost instantaneously, and I went home to sleep off what was left of my buzz. So that was the most fun I've had on a Tuesday in a long time! Like I said before, the rest of this week was pretty boring. Julie called me on Wednesday to thank me for making sure she got home safe, and I filled her in on the details of the trip that she didn't remember, like being carried most of the way, and her screaming at me. She was embarrassed, and I laughed. Anyway, I don't remember what time I work at today, so I have to go check. Hopefully there will be more excitement to tell about soon.

Monday, Feb 23/04, 11:02pm
Oh Monday! How I loath thee! Today I was very tired, as I spent all day yesterday out playing in the snow! First, me and pepper threw snowballs at Adrian while he shovelled Danny's driveway. Then we hooked up with Sarah and Kandice, and we walked around acting like idiots in the snow. After a couple of coffees, funny looks from the coffee-shop girl, and some tumbles in the snow, we went back to Kandis' place to get toasted and watch cartoons. Nic and Ben also showed up later on, and we ventured out into the snowiness yet again. More pot & salvia smoking and watching cartoons ensued.
Today, in comparison, was pretty lame. I got called in to work. Work was pretty slack today, so my day was spent rearranging stuff. After work I bought groceries with my roomies. We got a dollar off our cab ride home for winning a music-trivia game with the cabbie. That was kinda cool, especially since it was his idea. Pretty cool for an old dude! Then the day was culminated with a few hits from the bong, and that pretty much brings it up to now. I've announced my unofficial plans to move into Thomas's place. It's for the best really. Having to walk across the bridge to town reallt sucks, especially right now since we just had a huge storm that left almost 3 feet of snow. Well, I gotta go make something to eat, so that's it for now.

Sunday, Feb 22/04, 12:41pm
Ah! There's nothing quite like a good ole fashioned night of alcohol-fueled benediction! Or the headache that comes when it's over... owwww! After my night as happy-love-man, today I am left to clean up the mess....eventually. I also need to make another bracelet, as mine became a victim of last night's escapade, so that should kill a large portion of my day. Anyway, that's enough of me for today.

Sunday, Feb 22/04, 3:04am
Okay, first I would like to state that this update only comes as a result of much alcohol consumption. I would also like to say that I love each and every one of you, from the bottom of my heart. And with that aside. I will try to piece together that which was my night, for you;
The cellar was pretty dead. I got pep a beer and had a couple of drinks myself, as I decided that I wanted to get completely wasted tonight. I realised today that I haven't actually been broke for the past 2 weeks, I just negelected to check the balance on my bank account. As a result, $157.00 went almost unnoticed! Therefore, I just had to get quite loaded tonight. So get loaded I did. However, getting drunk does not come without it's drawbacks. Anyway, I gotta go pass out on the couch or somethin. Perhaps this will all make more sense in the morning. Then again, maybe not...

Friday, Feb 20/04, 10:37am
Good God-damn that's a lot of snow! That, folks, was my exact reaction when I opened my apartment door this morning, as I was greeted by a 5 foot tall snow drift. Right now I'm pretty much just waiting for my work to call to tell me whether or not I have to go in today. I'm kind of hoping they say I can stay home today. It's not that I don't like my job or anything. I love my job! I just don't wanna trudge to work through snow drifts and blowing snow. It's nowhere near as bad as it was yesterday though.
As one of the fiercest winter storms we'd ever witnessed was raging outside, we get the super-intelligent idea that we should go to the corner store. A 5 minute walk on a normal day, but this was no normal day! After much bundling up, nic, liz, mike, and I decide that we're ready to brave the elements for a couple of bags of chips and some pop, and maybe even something we actually need! By the time we get halfway to the store, we begin to realize that conditions are actually much worse than any of us had ever expected or experienced. Now I've been out in some pretty extreme conditions before, but all those times were like child's play compared to this storm. On the way back from the store, we almost became lost in a sea of snow drifts, with their decieving white waves luring us into waist deep snow, and the fierce wind driving snow into our eyes. By the time we finally made it back to the safety of home, we were all exhausted from our snowy ordeal. None of us could really tell exactly how long the whole trip took, but we all felt it was much too long. So it goes without saying that the next time we decide to go out adventuring in a blizzard, we'll probably stay home instead. Then again, probably not! Anyway this wraps up today's entry.

Sunday, Feb 15/04, 3:29pm
Ah! Good ole Sunday! Absolutely nothing to do but laze around the house and recover from the awesomeness that was last night. Adrian, pepper, and Vince threw a Valentine's Day party that was top notch. Lots of people showed up, and once again there was a band rockin out in the living room. Everything died down around 4:30, and then Adrian went on a strange little adventure. We went to Town & Country to eat before the party, and to my surprise, Laura is working there again. Seems she came home from England back in December. Laura's a pretty cool girl, so it was nice to be able to talk to her again. And with that said, it's time for me to get back to lounging around.

Sunday, Feb 8/04, 1:32pm
Well, Adrian's place was THE place to be last night! A party was thrown together at the last minute that has officially blown all previous parties away. I was almost as suprised that the cops didn't show up as I am that the floor didn't cave in! The band in the living room was a very nice touch. It's gonna be awesome when it all happens again for "March of Doom"! Anyway, I gotta go recover.

Saturday, Feb 7/04, 10:23am
*Yawn* I hate mornings! Coffee and page editing will get me ready for the day though. Today marks my 4th day at my new job, which is going pretty smoothly, more or less. It feels good to be working again after my 2 month hiatus of moping around the house and vegging in front of the ole playstation. It's not like there was much else to do anyway. It's friggin cold outside! The rumbling in my stomach is telling me it's time for some breakfast, so that's it for today. Honey-nut Cheerios are calling my name.
