Rafe was born in the sanction of Hazel on the planet Veronia. He was sent away by the kind to protect him from the Veronian's arch enemy, sequoal. sequoal wanted to "dismiss" all the heirs of royalty so he may gain control of each sanction. Rafe was attacked by a group of sequoals men when he was a mere todler. One of sequoals men betrayed him and sacrificed his life to save Rafe because he saw a great force with in the child. He wanted to go down as a helper in heart. This warrior escaped valliantly with the child and took him to Earth where no one could find him.
He left Rafe there and returned to his home. No one knew the real reason about why he felt sympathy for young Rafe. Rafe grew and flourished under the care of a young queen who took him in. He grew up to the age of 10, when the neighboring kingdoms relized that rafe was not the queens real son and protested to relinquish the child. The queen denied the request and they started a war against her kingdom. The queen feared for Rafes life and sent her best guard to take Rafe to saftey.
Upon the boat trip, they were attacked by a magical force and rafe was throne off the ship. He woke up and found himself on a strange island. Rafe was curious, as a kid is, went to check out the sites. He discovered a shrine where people prayed for help. It had a big statue of a phoenix made out of enerald stone. He prayed to the statue and waited. The statue reacted and he found himself in a secluded valley. Some whispering came about, then he was trapped in the rock and he was crystalized.
