Pack Ranks

Elder (1)
The elder is the wolf that has been around in the pack longest, and is usually an old and much respected wolf. The elder acts as the advisor, as well as storyteller of the pack.

Alphas (1 male & 1 female)
Have up to Super! giftings, and may have Super rare, depending on whether they have been given to them. The alpha pair leads the pack as well as hunts, and welcomes or rejects newcomers to the pack. They ensure rules are kept, and if not, will dicipine the wolf. The two alphas are usually mates, but this is not necessary, however the mate of the alpha cannot be below Delta rank.
The male starts group howls, protects pack territory and looks after the males. The alpha female allows other wolves to breed, chooses den sites and looks after females. The Alpha female may breed any freely, once a year, in March, and will give permission to other females to breed.

Betas (1 male & 1 female)
Have Good, Quite good, Very good, Self-teleport and Stop Giftings. The betas assist the alphas in their duties and take care of the pack when one or both of the alphas are not present. The female may also breed freely once a year in spring.

Gammas (2 male & 2 female)
Have Good, Quite good and Very good giftings. The gammas help ensure rules are kept and protect the pack. The two females may also breed freely, in spring.

Delta (1)
Have Good and Quite good giftings. Acts as the pack peacemaker, and is responsible for making sure pack members are getting along with each other. The delta is also a messenger to send messages to other packs.

Warriors (3)
Have Good and Quite good giftings, will fight in the frontline in the case of war. Among them is a battlemaster, the most highly-skilled warrior other than the alphas.

Hunters (4)
Have Good giftings, Earth and Ice, responsible for organizing and aiding the Alphas in leading hunts. The hunters must decide when the best time to hunt is and what strategy will be used. Hunters should consult Alphas when they have decided upon a good hunting time and strategy for approval.

Pupsitter (1 female)
The caretaker of the pack's pups. The pupsitter must take care of the pups at all times, and are responsible for them. Pupsitters should be able to teach the pups the ways of the pack, about nature and other important survival skills that wolves need.

Healer (1)
A wolf with knowledge to heal, with the gifting and/or naturally.

Omega (1)
A very playful wolf, will usually initiate play with a play bow, inviting others to chase it. Often the omega position is taken by a wolf who was not very respectful to the alphas, and so was placed in the lowest rank.
