Species

Only the Humanoids are playable... The others are NPCs... You can play them, but you don't need to apply them. Also, if the description has *'s around it, you cannot play them. Thank you!

Humanoids

Humans: Need I explain? (Singular: Human)

Elves: There are several different types of elf, and each one has a different affinity to something. Earth, Water, Air, and Fire Elves are the most common, with the next common being High, Dark, and Dawn Elves. They are traditionally taller than humans, with light, willowy figures. Their features are pointed and aristocratic, with large eyes, delicate nose, and elegant mouths. Their hair is often very long, and their ears go from being very slightly pointed, to very sharply pointed. I leave the rest up to you to decide! (Singular: Elf)

Nymphs: Pretty little idiots. It is sometimes thought that the nymphs and elves had a common ancestor, for both are gifted with pointed ears and unnatural beauty. But the nymphs, unlike the elves, do not have very many brains. They can be male or female, although females are seen far more often than males, and they are always associated with one of the four Elements. Earth nymphs are called dryads, water nymphs are naiads. Fire nymphs are fyraids, and air nymphs are aerads. (Singular: Nymph)

Izardl: They are reptilian, and very smart. They are also very reclusive by nature, and have a hidden sting. Their blood, when exposed to the air, can become a weapon, with the izardl himself controlling its motions. They are taller, stockier than humans, with scales that can come in any shade of green-ish. They also have a full mouth of sharp teeth! Unfortunately, they cannot breed as often as humans, or even elves. (Singular: Izardl)

Kigh: The creatures of the air which can Bond with dragons and kortha. They do not have skin, instead sporting soft hides that are far softer than most people would think. Their hides come in multiple colors, but they are usually far more muted than other creatures’. They look semi-human, being smaller than the average human, with sharply pointed ears, and faceted eyes. They do have hair, which can come in multiple colors, but is usually the color of their hide. They mostly speak, not verbally, but telepathically, at least to anyone who can hear them, preferring the silent communication to the verbal one. They cannot learn to speak mind-to-mind until they are five, because, until then, the ability is dormant. They live with the dragon/korth that they have Bonded to. (Singular: Kigh)

Rivti: A shapeshifting race that often look like fairies in their natural form. They have no home kingdom, preferring instead to infiltrate other races and kingdoms. They are very mischevious, and love pranks. (Singular: Rivtith)

*Fairies: They are small little cheerful creatures, and they adore glittery things... In fact, they carry bottomless bags of glitter with them, which they are usually flinging everywhere. They are aslo the bearers of immense magical powers, which they use to create Surprises. All fairies are part of the Surprise Guild.*

Note: Interbreeding between the races, while not common, is possible. But the results are often fairly odd.

Non-Humanoids

Dragons: Dragons are as intelligent as humans, and some say, more so. They are huge, the heads of the smallest easily as large as a grown man. Their eyes are faceted, and change colors constantly. Their wings have huge spans, and the flight webbing often seems too thin to support them. In truth, the flight webbing is far more durable than most people think, and can take quite a beating and still keep the dragon in the air. (Singular: Dragon)

Kortha: Winged creatures, they are much like dragons, and are equally intelligent, but there are a few differences between the species. For one thing, Kortha have feathers instead of hide, and are more likely to come in multiple colors than dragons. They hatch from eggs as well, although the parents are much more protective of their eggs than the dragon mothers are, having their clutches in high up cliff caves with no access except by air. (Singular: Korth)

Shestal: Small, dragon-like creatures, they are not very intelligent, and often play the part of pampered pets to the high-born ladies. Of course, they are often seen with travelers as well, with special training so they are aides, and not hindrances. (Think fire-lizards on Pern.) (Singular: Shest)

Theran: Canine-type creatures, except for the fact that they have scales instead of fur. They are about the size of a house dog, and have the keenest noses around, able to track practically anything by scent. (Singular: Thera)

Choryo: Feline-type creatures, but far more intelligent than any housecat. They have paws more like a raccoon’s, and a semi-prehensile tail. They are often used by mages as familiars, because they are very intelligent, and can be trained to help the mage out around his workshop, either by being a focus for a new spell, or simply by carrying ingredients. (Singular: Choryo)

Leti: Work beasts with far more muscle than brains. They can work for days, and still be able to do more work. They are very ugly, though, but very calm, with perfectly sweet temperaments, so it is perfectly safe to leave them with children watching them. (Singular: Letith)

Wihk: Riding beasts that only the nobles can afford. They are absolutely gorgeous, with draconic-type bodies, and prehensile wings. Their wings cannot allow them to fly, because they are far too small to lift them into the air. Their bodies are configured for moving about on the land as well, not in the air. (Singular: Wihk)

There are many other species, but I’m not up to inventing them.
