History: Carl was never the average American teenager. He loved the Japanese culture, and spent all his time as a young man immersed in manga, anime, and video games. He was what was normally considered a geek. He loved the girls, but never seemed to get anywhere with them. In fact, he was normally what would be considered a pervert. He never made any apologies for his behaviour, though. Always brazen with his feelings, no matter what they were. Along with his love of all things Japanese, he also loved music. He loved rock and rap music, and kept up with his personal interests all through high school and into college. He was a veritable musical dictionary. Even more reason for his geek label. While in college, he majored in English and minored in Japanese. He had a short job as a manager for an on-campus rock group, but they broke up before they turned into anything. He continued his career options with a stint as a freelance writer for a music magazine. When his writing career didn't really take off, he began looking again. It was around this time that a unique opportunity provided itself. A school in Japan was looking for a teacher for the 10th grade. He always wanted to go to Japan, why not now?
