Graphics: Being a GameCube game, of course it has amazing graphics. We all know this, the visuals on a GameCube from now on are most likely going to be outstanding. Sound: This game actually impressed me on this one. The sound is superb. Luigi's voice is very realistic and echoes through out the mansion when he speaks. The ghastly sounds are also a great sound addition to the game. The music is creepy and the place really has a lot of character because of the excellent sound value. Control: The control in Luigi's Mansion is a bit abnormal, but you get used to it after awhile. The way you play is not like any game I've ever played. The way you move and suck ghosts in with the vacuum cleaner sure is different. For the most part, the control is pretty good. Fun Factor: Let me say this, at first the game is a little slow as you learn how to do everything. It's more of a required tutorial mode, which bugs me. It should have been optional, you should be able to skip all that gibberish that the little ghoster hunter professor blurts out. But anyhow, when the game picks up, it really picks up. In this I mean it doesn't take much to beat this game. It isn't very challenging at all and it only takes about 6 hours to beat the game. Looking past that, the only real challenge in the game is finding things, which in my opinion, just leads to a headache. If you would like to, you could rephrase Luigi's Mansion as a mere headache. The kind of Mario games I liked were the classical ones and Mario 64... Those were true adventures. Where as to Luigi's Mansion is just vacuuming up ghosts and searching through a dusty old house. Don't get me wrong though, this isn't a bad game at all, it's just one I don't happen to prefer. It is worth renting though, go out and rent it at least. Rating: 7 - Being short and rather dull at times, it gets a seven. An average score for the average game. All right, you get it now. I think there was way too much hype about Luigi's Mansion to begin with. I think the graphics drew away from how good the game really was. Ironically, it is the top selling game so for the GameCube. The average consumer bought 2-3 games with their GameCube. So a lot of people obviously have Luigi's Mansion, so if you don't have it already, chances are one of your friends will. Let them fall victim to this game, then when they get sick of Luigi's Mansion, simply leech off of them and play it. |
