Sephiroth was the best, even amongst the elite troops of SOLDIER. His real past is held locked away in files that only Shinra has access to. He easily handles his huge sword, Masamune. Sephiroth never had a proper family, for years thinking his mother, Jenova, had died at his birth. He never once mentioned a thing about a father. When investigating a Mako Reactor, in the Nibelheim mountians, Sephiroth descovers capsules containing monsters, saying they where once human, but had been exposed to a large amount of Mako energy, so they mutated. This wasn't anything compared to what he found next. A chamber at the top with 'Jenova' written over it. He knows this name as his mothers, this making Sephiroth think. Was he an experiment like the monsters in the capsules, since his mother was also kept there? Was he created? He wasn't like other Shinra SOLDIERS. Knowing of a hidden library in the Shinra Mansion, he decides to go there to find out more.
For days, Sephiroth was gone. Locked away in the Mansion, reading anything and everything that could lead to him to find who he really was. Two major things were found out, one was about the Ancients, the other was the Jenova Project. He learned that the planet once belonged to the Cetra. He learned more-so that a crisis hit the planet, many Cetra' fled. These where the ancestors of humans. Seeing that he was son of Jenova, who was a Cetra, he took himself to be the rightful owner of the planet. As humans were traitors, he must punish them, to return the planet to it's rightful owners...Him and his mother, Jenova.
In rage, anger, and hatred, Sephiroth burned down Nibelheim and slaughtered nearly everyone there. He then headed out for the Mako Reactors, to be with his mother. In a battle between Cloud, Tifa, and Zack, Sephiroth is flung into the pit of the Mako Reactor.Shinra, after this event, reported that Sephiroth...was dead. Shinra moved Jenova to their headquarters, to keep on with their experiments.
During the five years before Sephiroth was to attack Shinra and steal Jenova back, Sephiroth went out searching for something. 'Cetra's Sin', other then Meteor and Holy, it was the only other thing able to bring life or destruction to the planet. It was not hard to find, as the Jenova cells within him also were searching for this power. One morning, Sephiroth came to the source of the power...It was latched to the arm of a young girl. Unable to kill her, as it might damage what he needed, he turned his anger upon the childs parents. Killing them off, waiting in the shadows for her to awake. As she did, he snatched her up, and stole her away from home.
He trained her, and he brainwashed her. She lost all common sense of self. She forgot she was an actual human, she forgot what it was to be free. Sephiroth claimed her as his own right hand woman. She slowly took the job of killing those in their way. She was with him the night he killed off everyone, including presidant Shinra, of the Shinra headquarters. Sephiroth was the one known to have done this, as a long sword that only he could handle, was found in presidant Shinra. (Find out how Sephiroth survived!)
Traveling around the world, Sephiroth comes to the Temple of the Ancients.He learns of more of Meteor, Holy, and 'Cetra's Sin'. While in the middle of praying, Sephiroth kills young Aeris...To late, her prayers had been enough. Sephiroth killed, the planet was saved...
Sephiroth, knowing his end might come, had planned for his death. Within the Sephiroth clones, he planted energy from himself. Not enough to save himself though...It was in 'Cetra's Sin' that the energy needed to bring him back was kept. Sephiroth's spirit taking it's time, he slowly went thru Re-Birth. Alive once more, he set to his original plans to take the planet as his, and Jenova's. Still thought dead by most, he travles the world once more, looking for Jenova.

Sephiroth was always a handomse man. Tall, fairly built, with long white hair that reflected his ice blue eyes. Inforced with Jenova cells, he had always been a top ranking elite SOLDIER.

Sephiroth wears a black leather trench, with matching pants underneath. Knee high boots are held tightly down by two straps each. He wears shoulder armor, and glooves. A wrist band on either wrist, and at all times his Masamune.
