Cloud once to have beaten Sephiroth, wandered the world after the battle for the planet. After Sephiroths's return he sought him out, with a new wardrobe and newly fixed sword, he engaged him and lost. With the ring on his pinky, left by Naomi when he was thought to be dead, he drew in the little energy she left from her emotions. Enough in him, and in the ring, to slowly allow him to heal in the Church he had been left for dead in. Traveling now in search of Sephiroth, seaking to destroy him once and for all...
