Steiner is constantly overlooked because of the assumption he is a little dimwitted. He is a Knight, which definitely means he can become the most powerful physical attacker in the game. He has a large stock of strong swords that he learns his Sword Arts from. The Sword Arts are extremely useful and dangerous attacks that do things such as cause rare status inflictions to ordinary boosted physical damage. During Trance, Steiner becomes stronger and more defensive. Generally you should let him simply attack to conserve his valuable MP for using his Sword Arts against bosses. If Vivi is in the same battle as Steiner, Steiner can use his second ability, Magic Sword. This gives elemental properties to his normal attacks.
