The heavy clouds overhead threaten to rain with every passing minute, and Felicity, heading towards Pewter City, looks up at the sky warily before continuing on her way carefully, picking her way along the rocky ridge with her eyes on the ground. A young male Nidoran hops along beside her, moving slowly among the rocks. No other pokemon accompany Felicity right now, though the one other pokemon she has probably wouldn't be of much help anyways. <Felicity...> the Nidoran groans, looking up at his trainer. "What is it, Kishou?" the girl answers, not moving her eyes from the ground for fear of tripping. <I don't want to walk anymore...> Felicity scowls but picks her Nidoran up anyways, moving more slowly now along the rocks.

Not much to see around here, and what little there is is fairly hard to miss. For this reason, Felicity and her pokemon should have very little trouble getting a good look about the area. Rocks. Tiny bit of grass. More rocks. And... something up ahead. Something short, green, and currently motionless. It's definitely not human, so most likely it's some sort of pokemon? Question is, what. A green Geodude? A wingless Pidgey? Or maybe it's nothing, just a particularly moss-covered rock. Sure are enough rocks around here, after all.

While Felicity has her eyes on the ground, Kishou, now freed of the burden of walking, looks all around. It doesn't take much time for him to notice the green spot up ahead, and he tilts his head quizzically at it before notifying Felicity. <Hey, there's something up there... it's green.> The girl looks up, noticing the motionless green thing and blinking. "Ah... shall we go see what it is?" she asks herself and Kishou, then continues walking. Suddenly, she lets out a yelp, tripping over a small rock and almost falling face first. She rights herself in a hurry before she hits the ground, however, and stops for a moment to catch her breath before starting to walk again, heading for the green thing.

And the green thing doesn't move. An inch. It just continues to sit there, doing a whole lot of nothing, apparently oblivious to the approaching trainer. Even when Felicity takes a rather loud and probably painful trip, the bugger doesn't budge in the slightest. Maybe it really is a moss-covered rock? Or maybe not. Moss-covered rocks are probably more interesting...

Felicity is rather confused when the green thing doesn't react to her accidental loud-noise-making, and she is starting to suspect it's not even a living thing. She creeps slowly up to it. Maybe it's sleeping? Felicity looks around cautiously, then, moving strangely slow, picks up a small pebble and tosses it lightly at the motionless 'moss covered rock.' She is still a few feet away from the thing.

Well, no. Rocks aren't living things at all. And it's looking like that's definitely what Felicity's discovery is -- a rock. A very weird, very moss-covered rock. Or something. However, when this bizarre thing-a-ma-bob is prodded? Something very interesting happens. Interesting indeed. The thing gives a nice big shiver, goes still for another moment, then lets out a low "Saaaaaaur." It then moves slightly to one side. And then promptly goes back to doing nothing, again.

Kishou is just about ready to say, <It's a rock, Felicity. Let's -go-!> when the thing shivers and utters a word. Kishou jumps slightly and peers even closer at the "rock." Felicity just blinks at the thing, then comes closer and kneels down by it, her brow furrowed. <Do something to it, Felicity. It's like... a living rock, or something. Or a pokemon that thinks it's a rock...> 'Doing something' is exactly what the girl intends to do, even it isn't the brightest thing to do, and she reaches her hands out and, if the creature doesn't move, which it probably won't, tries to pick it up.

Indeed, the 'rock' doesn't move so much as a muscle when it's patted. Nor does it move at the sound of voices. Or anything else that seems to be going on around it at the moment. Even when Felicity tries to pick him up, the rock wannabe doesn't do anything at all, not even shiver this time around. He just sits there. Though the trainer won't get any trouble from the Bulbasaur, she might have some trouble anyway. Trying to lift something that weight twenty pounds isn't really difficult, but it's not really the easiest thing in the world. Not to mention the fact that a Bulbasaur in itself is somewhat awkward. But he won't put up a fight at least, and if the girl really wants to, she'll be able to.

Felicity, when she tries to pick the 'rock' up, isn't really able to get it that far off of the ground. She sets it back down, carefully, and rubs the back of her neck. "Well... what now?" she asks no one in particular. Kishou peers at the Bulbasaur, then says, <You could try catching it... or something.> Felicity shrugs, thinking 'Why not?' But first, she takes out her camera and focuses it on the Bulbasaur, snapping a quick picture of the uninteresting thing. "Well... that was pretty much pointless, but hey," she says as she puts the camera away. Then, assuming the Bulbasaur did not react to the flash of the camera, Felicity takes an empty pokeball from her belt and drops it lightly on the rock-'saur, hoping, (but not really too enthusiastic about it) to catch it inside.

Excitement would be lost on this particular pokemon, from the way it acts. The bugger continues not to do a whole lot of anything, even as he's picked up, set down, wandered around, and talked about. Even when something's dropped on him, he doesn't move. Felicity's pokeball bops the pokemon on the head, causing him to grunt out a soft and decidedly unimpressive "Bulb." Then the orb bursts open in the usual flare of red light, which engulfs the dull pokemon and sucks him inside. Even once the Bulbasaur's inside the pokeball, he continues to be boring. It shakes only once, and even then not a full time, before 'ping'ing softly and going still. The pokemon's been caught! ... Yay?
