History of The Amulet: Saifer’s father, on the day of his wedding, went to the best place he knew of where to by a wedding present. The sorcerer. The sorcerer had the best items for sale, and at a bargain, some magical Items. When he walked into the sorcerer’s domain, his eyes immediately rested upon a silver amulet with a single pearl encrafted into it. He asked the sorcerer how much the amulet was selling for. The sorcerer said that this amulet was not for sale as it was made by his father and blessed upon it was a holy spell. This spell made the amulet indestructible and contained a Holy Knight, which he, the almighty sorcerer, could not discover how to unleash. Saifer’s father talked the sorcerer into selling him the amulet, for a price. He took it home that day to his wife. And she wore it until her death. No one wore it until Saifer found it within the confines of his father’s room. On his travels, he also realized that if he concentrated on the sight of pure evil, that a knight would appear before him. Searching for the evil thought up by the user, to vanquish it.

Saifer’s History: Saifer was born into a fairly wealthy family, where it was just his father, mother, and himself. Saifer’s father was a farmer, who provided the village they lived in with food in return for money and clothing and other items of the sort. When Saifer was very young, his mother was killed by a man who came to steal the Tyrann’s family fortune. When Saifer’s father came home to see his wife, dead, he went insane.

At this time Saifer was only an infant. In a matter of weeks, Saifer’s father gave away all the gold he possessed and took Saifer, a staff, and a necklace that his wife wore when she was killed with him to a monastery to live. Some think he did this because of his insanity, others because he realized that gold, the one thing he wanted more than all, was the reason for his beloved wife’s death. When Saifer reached the monastery with his father, he had just turned two years old. The head monk, Fredrick, gladly took them in.

As the years passed, it became apparent that Saifer’s anger had gotten the better of him. At age sixteen, he became frustrated with Fredrick and his father and was banished from the monastery. He decided that he would use the time he had to meditate. The destination for his meditation was the top of a mountain. On the way up the mountainside, he was knocked unconscious by a falling rock. When he awoke, he was in a strange house with nothing lighting it, but a single candle on a table. Then, he saw the shape of a man, the man that had saved him. Saifer thanked the man and asked him what he could do in return for the great gift the man had given him. The man told him that he could study under him, because if he did not teach his way, it would be lost to the world. Without thinking, Saifer agreed. Little did he know that for the next six years, he would be studying the dark magics that he vowed to abstain from at the monastery?

A couple of months after Saifer’s twenty-second birthday, and six years after meeting him, the man whose name turned out to be Xiragon, died. After six years of rigorous training and endless hours studying, Saifer realized that what his master was teaching him was not what he should have been learning. He immediately climbed down the mountain and hiked to the monastery. When he arrived, Fredrick immediately saw him and remembered him. He told Saifer to go away and never come back. Saifer, trying to set things right, told him that he realized he was wrong and that he asked for forgiveness. Fredrick said that he could not be forgiven for studying the teachings of Lucifer. That is when Saifer saw his father walk by and look over to see what was causing all the trouble. When he saw Saifer, he ran to him. Saifer outstretched his arms to embrace his father, but to his surprise, his father hit him square in the mouth. Then his father said, “How dare you come back to this holy place, you demon! Be gone! Never come back!” Stunned, Saifer left.

He found a spot just outside of a forest and he meditated. The words, “How dare you come back to this holy place, you demon? Be gone! Never come back!” kept running through his head. Why had the monastery rejected him after asking for forgiveness? Why had his father called him a demon? Then he realized that they all must have known about his studying under Xiragon. The things he learned. The things he knew. Saifer’s anger once again engulfed him, but this time, it possessed him.

He returned to the monastery that night. But when he returned, he was not himself. He was out of control. Using the dark magics he learned, he killed, one by one, everyone at the monastery. He then, burned the building to the ground. When he exited the flames and the rubble, he saw the body of a man face down to the ground. He walked up to the body and kicked it over to see who it was. It was his father. In the shock and awe of what he had done, he lost consciousness.

When he awoke, fires that had engulfed the monastery had burned down, and the sun had risen. Only Saifer did not know what was going on. The last thing he remembered was meditating outside of the forest the other day. What had happened here? The monastery is burned down and everyone dead. Saifer then buried the dead bodies. After he was done, he prayed that their souls would not get lost on their way to the gates of Heaven. After he was done praying, he went in his father’s room, and found an odd staff and a pendant lying next to it. He seemed to remember that his father had kept a staff and a pendant that looked a lot like these. He took the staff and the pendant, that unknowingly his mother wore, and he traveled far, far away, to a place that could provide him with the answers to his questions. To a place where he could right wrongs. And, unknowingly, to a place where he could find redemption for his sins.

As Saifer wandered through this unknown land, full of the burden of what had happened, he came across a group of talented individuals that were in need of a monk’s help. Apparently there was trouble with Tonberrys. There he met his beloved friends, Quizzmo, Connor, K’Tal and set out on the journey to revive Duncan Fox, the master swordsman who would overthrow Alexander Nightshade’s Tyrannical rule and once again bring peace to the world. Unfortunately for Saifer, it did not happen that way. After months of hard work (and a few weeks spent in his private room aboard the Airship on a toilet seat), Saifer’s party finally got the chance to revive Duncan Fox, but not to a good end. Once Duncan was revived, the party went at once to the Dragon Isle, a floating Isle only accessible by those with airships or really powerful magic.

On the Isle, the party encountered Alexander’s minions, strong and worthy adversaries. The battle raged on for some time until the party realized that Alexander was going to be close to impossible to defeat without any tricks up its sleeve. After multiple crushing blows, Saifer heaved his broken body towards a summoned Tree and sliced it right in half, destroying Alexander Nightshade and his world, but from this great and noble deed came a horrible cursed being, so ruthless and terrible that the entire world quaked at his arrival. That entity goes by the name K’noreth, or the Dark Saifer. He revealed that he was sucking the life force out of Saifer the entire time of his possession to gather energy for his own body. This terrible act left Saifer drained not only in energy, but in his actual life; he became a 27 year-old in a 70 year-old’s body. K’noreth left the party and fled to God-knows where.

After Saifer was rejuvenated by modern medical science, he took the train to the Shenglo Tournament in hopes of helping his party to win the tournament and the grand prize of the Airship. But who knows what awaits our hero on his seemingly impossible journey. As we all know, anything can happen in a world of Fantasy...
