Nicholas Reid
Nicholas Reid

Character Name: Nicholas Reid
Gender: Male
Actual Age: 10
Apparant Age: 20
Class: Sorceror
Weapons:
Entropy- a sword forged of black obsidian, with two markings on it which give it magical properties: on the handle, a hex for causing more damage, and on the blade, a hex for causing pain.

Steel Arms- two arms grafted onto his body where his old arms used to be. They're black steel, infused with the power of darkness. They're the same shape as his old arms, except that his fingertips are extended a whole inch and a half longer, with claw-like nails that are as sharp as the finest knife. They're resilient to damage and inhumanly strong, so he can use them to climb walls, block weapons, etc. They feel no pain.
Armor/Clothing: Black clothing with blue highlights, loose-fitting to allow maximum mobility. Strong body armor underneath the clothing.

Commands:

ATTACK
DEITY MAGIC
ELEMENTAL MAGIC
ITEM

Deity Magic:

Magic Sword: Charges his sword with elemental energy, most often Darkness, to do elemental damage.

Telekinesis: A mental power a little bit stronger than Loretta's old Telekinesis; in addition to moving objects, it can also lift slightly larger objects and be focused in a telekinetic blast. It manipulates with about 200 lbs. worth of constant pressure.

Glory: A strong surge of Black Magic, focused to a point on the enemy to cause major damage. Glory's strength is directly proportionate to how long the caster had charged it; Nicholas can hold it for a while to get a strong blast, or fire them off to get several small bursts.

Elemental Magic:

Elemental Sight: Nicholas can see the threads of elements if he concentrates, even if he has not the power of sight at all. This is hardly useful at all in battle, but can be used for other things-- telling a person's elemental weakness, seeing things hidden from plain view, and sensing energy to use for his elemental magic.

Bind: Nicholas can call elemental threads to form and do what he dictates. It takes a bit of concentration and skill to bind a single element, and it becomes increasingly more difficult as the effect gets bigger, more complex, and uses multiple elements. Nicholas can use it in battle to control simple elements and summon them out of nothingness, such as creating fireballs, blinding his opponenets with light, poisoning a foe, etc. He can create physical and nonphysical things. He has to have free-floating elemental energy in the area to bind, however.

Unbind: Nicholas can call the elemental threads to loosen their hold on any given form or pattern, making something dissolve and cease to exist. The difficulty much in the same way as for the spell Bind does-- things composed of simply one element are easy to undo, though those which are comprised of more than one are more difficult. In battle, when he has to work as fast as he can, he cannot manage to unbind anything more than elements in their purest form-- such as fire, light, earth, electricity, etc. Unbinding things also provides a good supply of free-floating elemental energy which can be used to bind other things.

Summon: Within Nicholas resides the spirit of Lilith the Succubus, the last demon of Hel. Lilith acts the same as Alexander does for Loretta; Nicholas cannot summon Lilith, nor let her fight, but he sees her in his mind as a girl about his age, and she gives him advice, like a mentor. All of Nicholas' skills have been taught by Lilith.

Trance: Also known as the 'irresistible force', Nicholas' attack strength skyrockets as gravity greatly loses hold on him, making him extremely quick and powerful. Stone breaks under his fist, iron crumbles with the swing of his sword, skulls are sent flying for miles by the palm of his hand. However, Nicholas' defense stays the same, and as he is so light, it is possible to do great damage to him and send him flying. However, if you cannot hit him due to his speed, then what does that matter?

Character Element: Darkness
Strong With: Darkness
Strong Against: Lightning
Weak With: Lightning
Weak Against: Darkness

Clothing: Black clothes, dark black cloak with silver buttons, polished black leather boots.
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Brown, combed back

Personality Description:

Nicholas is a rather cold individual, but only to those of power or those who seem cruel to him. He has a twisted view of his past, so those who had helped him once, he may snap on and fight against. He doesn't act superior or aloof, but simply distant, distracted. He doesn't flaunt his powers, but sees nothing wrong with using them in full force, even when he doesn't need to. Nicholas has a soft spot for children and other people who he sees as being 'pure' and 'innocent', and he'll help those people, but none else, and only for a while. He still detests evil, but good and evil are different concepts for him than they are for others. What he sees as evil may be, in fact, good. And what he perceives as good is, in most cases, evil.

Lilith's inhabitance of him has given him a curious side-effect: As Lilith is a Succubus, her presence has influenced several hormones in Nicholas' body, making him suddenly experience puberty at an extremely accelerated rate. Nicholas will seem to age by years and years, both physically and mentally, until he hits the apparent age of 20. When he reaches that age, he will continue to develop normally.

A BRIEF STORY SYNAPSIS

This story begins on Urth, a world far, far away from the world of Gaia, across a vast sea of stars and endless void, but very similar to our own. Urth is nearly a carbon-copy of Earth, and it is here that most of the characters in my story have come from.

Before Urth came to be, the Creator and his creations had an argument. Leuci-El, one of the Creator's most trusted servants, wanted to rule the Heaven-Realm where they all resided. He believed that he had the power, strength, and wisdom to be the new Creator, and behind him rallied several other angels. The Creator and his followers fought Leuci-El and his followers, and ultimately, Leuci-El was defeated. The Creator banished him to a world of torment, named Hel, where Leuci-El changed his name to Leuci-Fer, which means not Bringer of Light, like Leuci-El, but Bearer of Darkness.

After Leuci-El (or Leuci-Fer) was banished, the Creator made his Grand Weaving-- a beautiful world known as Urth. This world was inhabited by many creatures, but none as beautiful as the human. Leuci-Fer saw this creation, and desired to corrupt it. And so began the second war between Leuci-Fer and the Creator-- not a quick, swift battle for the Heaven-Relm, but a slow war, thousands upon thousands of years, where it was not Heaven that was fought for, but Urth. Leuci-Fer devoted all of his time to corrupting the people of Urth, and bringing them to him.

Just when Leuci-Fer had almost won, had almost gained control, the Creator decided that enough was enough, and begun the rite of Armageddon, to end Urth and Hel at once. And Leuci-Fer, being caught between Hel and Urth, fought to enter the Heaven-Realm and claim it for himself once again. He himself began a rite, where he slept with a pure young woman, a virgin, and produced a son, one which would have the powers to travel from world to world. It was with this child that Leuci-Fer wished to cross into the Heaven-Realm with. And his plan would have worked, if not the Archangel Micha-El, who had taken Leuci-Fer's place as head servant, had fought Leuci-Fer as the child was being birthed. Micha-El drove back Leuci-Fer and carried the woman and her child to a safe place. Leuci-Fer, stuck on Urth without any gate into the Heaven-Realm, lost the battle. Urth and Hel were destroyed, the demons of Hel were scattered and killed, and Leuci-Fer was banished by the Creator to another plane of existance, across the great void which separates all world-systems, to the small, backwards world of Gaia.

Leuci-Fer was stripped of most of his powers, but he didn't sit in torment as he was stuck on this horrid plane of existence. He remembered the rite to create a gatekeeper, and he found a young virgin by the name of Loretta, who had just lost her parents and inherited their fortune. He changed his name to Richard Reid, seduced her, married her, stole her money, and used her to begin the ritual. She conceived the first time, and a son was created in her womb-- a son who would have the powers to cross the gap between worlds, so Leuci-Fer would be able to enter the Heaven-Realm once more and claim his throne.

However, something went wrong.

Leuci-Fer usually beat his wife, Loretta, and the last time that he had, he sensed something peculiar. The child in Loretta's womb sensed her anguish, her cry for help, and used its inner ability to send a plea across the great void. That plea found the ears of Micha-El, in paradise, and brought him across the distance to Gaia. And there, Micha-El and Leuci-Fer fought again for a second time, this one very much like the first. Micha-El's powers were stripped, as well, and he was forced into the shape of the deities of this world, but he and Leuci-Fer fought, and Micha-El triumphed again. Leuci-Fer was cast away, and Micha-El took them to safety. Later, Loretta gave birth to her son, named Nicholas.

Leuci-Fer followed them, at a distance, and when they left the spot where Nicholas was born, he found the birth caul and stole it. With that scrap, he used some of Nicholas' powers and sent his own cry across the expanse, one that caught the ear of a certain Lilith, the only demon left in that world. And she followed the call gladly. Leuci-Fer wanted the child to be delivered to him, but that could not happen unless Micha-El was destroyed, the child was trained in his powers, and was totally committed to Leuci-Fer. So he sent Lilith to use someone to get to Nicholas- his mother, Loretta.

Loretta was in a unique position, because she was the one closest to Nicholas. Her blood and his blood formed a direct bond which would help Lilith against the powers of Micha-El, and with her inside of Loretta, the angel wouldn't know that she was there. Loretta fought against Lilith's influence, but crumbled under her weight after a while. But just as Lilith was about ready to fight Nicholas and claim him for her own, Loretta gained control and ran away. When she had come back to her home, Nicholas was gone.

As Nicholas adventured outward, Micha-El revealed himself to Nicholas. Nicholas recognized the form that Micha-El had taken from books, and took to calling him Alexander. And Micha-El began to use that name. The great angel 'Alexander' loved Nicholas, and trained him to be a good child and to know powers to defend himself, but he never told him about Leuci-Fer or the danger he was in. Alexander decided that he was too young to know about that.

Lilith quickly followed Nicholas, using the body of Loretta, but always remained one step behind the angel and his boy. Loretta became almost one with Lilith, and Loretta was in control for much of the time she was searching, totally corrupted by Lilith's influence. With the help of the Airship Duncan, she found Nicholas, fought him enough to draw Alexander out of his body in a summon, and while his body was empty, left Loretta and possessed Nicholas.

Lilith began to corrupt Nicholas, teaching him falsehoods and lying about his friends, teaching him that he and Leuci-Fer were the only ones that he could trust. And Nicholas believed her. She trained him in the dark arts, using his innate ability, being the son of an Angel, and taught him rudimentary hexwork.

Loretta, however, was taken under the wing of Alexander and realized the severity of what she had done in the past years of her life. With his help, she swore to save her son from the influence of Lilith and Leuci-Fer, and not only save their lives, but the lives of all those in every world. Alexander taught her skills using white magic and the innate ability that Alexander had, being an archangel.
