Apophis - God of Death(Egyptian)
~CHARACTER INFO~
*Appearance: He stands approximately 6'3" tall, a height that was considered exceedingly impressive during the time of his full power. He has very sharp facial features, making him look almost snakelike in appearance and a slim build. His eyes change appearance depending upon his mood, often being solid black they change to a more reptilian look when he is angered. His skin is drained of most colour, leaving him looking very pale. He keeps his jet black hair cut short, approximately only 1 inch in length. He wears clothing that would be typical of the Egyptian high priests, except more lavishly decorated with gold and gems. Save for an ankh pendant, the hole in the middle of the loop of the ankh in the shape of a skull, and two gold rings, he wears no other jewelry.
*Personality: He is a very proud god, he finds that he fills an essencial spot among the gods and goddesses, often thinking that he is above the others because of what he does. Some have considered him 'heartless', as he believes death to be a transition to something better than mortal life. He looks on life as a sort of 'waiting period' before entering the realm of the dead. His greatest desire is to return death to it's former glory. During the peal of his power, in ancient Egyptian times, he would watch over all those that died and was worshipped by family members of the dead. The families hoping that this worship would appease him and he would treat their loved ones with kindness and give them fair judgment. Those that died were burried with all of their worldly posessions to take with them into the afterlife where they would reside forever more. Now there are often meager little ceremonies where one is simply put into a box and burried. There are no attempts to preserve the bodies of the dead as was once done, and there are definately no worshippers. Once a benevolent god, being very calm and watchful, this disgrateful attitude towards him and all those he watches over has driven him beyond his breaking point. He has decided to return death to its former glory by any means necessary.
