History: Lagavulin the IV was born to Lagavulin the III and Amirellis.
Lagavulin the III came from a line of kings that ruled over the land of Caithlrynn, a country on the border of the elven shire. On a day of training in the Sacred Forest, a mass of orcs ambushed the king and his guards in front of the prince. Being only 15, Lagavulin the III hid behind the Great Oak from the ghastly orcs. He sat trembling for hours before revealing himself to the now hollow woods. Using his senses, he tracked the orcs to their caves to find that the orcs were creating breeds of warriors unseen by human eyes. His stealthy abilities allowed him to free his father and the living guards from their cells and together, they fought against the creatures.
Though victorious himself, the king lay before him, dying. The only thing left for him was the greatsword that had been passed down for generations. The sword was well balaced, encrusted with jewels and a blade thick and strong. On its golden handel was enscribed 'Isthel', elven for 'Silver Light'. And indeed it was a beacon in the darkness, for it lead Lagavulin through the treacherous depths of pain and misery: it lead him to Amirellis.
Years passed as Lagavulin slowly worked his way back to Caithlrynn, where in his absence, his sister, Raeillynn ruled. Overjoyed to see her brother, she gracefully stepped down from the thrown.
But decades of anguish had sept through Lagavulin's smooth facade, and after producing only one heir he was pulled from power and murdered. Amirellis, thinking only of her child's safety, remarried. But it was too late. Young Lagavulin was cast out from the surrounding society and as he knelt crying, years later, over his mother's dying body, he vowed that his rightful honour would be reclaimed once more.
