Demonica's Story

Chapter 7

Continuing my life I realized I was missing someone, Sourlin.  The panther that I bought back to health…I had fed her blood as the years passed prolonging her life.  Beginning to wonder how long the last installment of blood would last in her body I searched for her.  Much to my surprise she kept herself restricted to the area’s we use to roam, though she had began to grow old over the many years.  She recognized me instantly as I slowly moved toward her, a loving lick given as a greeting.  I quickly gave her my blood beginning the cycle once more.

Sourlin and I grew apart as time passed though we continued to check in with one another over the years.  I found myself going back to the taverns again instead of roaming the land, as Sourlin and I had begun to do.  Keeping myself in the rafters where I am normally found I noticed two panther cubs playing with one another.  The sight reminded me of Sourlin.  Watching the two pounce one another I decided to use my black flame and make a small ball the panthers could chase around, though I made sure it would not burn them when they touched it.  Doing so; I kept control of the ball and moved it quickly past the sight of the cubs.  One took to it quickly chasing it around the tavern; the other seemed to loose interest in everything and left.  Paying no mind to the little cub that left I looked to the other that now had the flame firmly between her paws.  We played for a good hour before I made it known that I was the one behind the ball she was chasing.  With a bit of weariness from the little panther at first, she ended up snuggled in my arms a valued part of my life, now my beloved daughter.

Little time passed and the panther and I had spent much time together.  Much to my surprise there was more behind this panther cub then I had originally thought.  Soon I learned she could speak through her mind, as I could.  Using this method I learned her name was Lanta.  Another surprise was to come as she stood on all four paws and shifted in front of me.  Shocked I stood there staring at the beautiful girl that took the place of the small panther that I had grown so use to.  In this form her name is Atlanta, though she has many forms that she changes into.  Learning my daughter was a shape shifter I stared for a moment before she went back to her panther form and looked up to me with those beautiful eyes.  Midnight black fur covers her body, the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen and wings that begin as black as the fur they form from then turn to a dark blue fading through all the blues and the back tips of her wings are pure white.  The most beautiful creature I have ever seen…She also wears a necklace I gave her, holding a picture of the man she considers her father, me and herself.

Lanta and I spent our nights together getting into trouble, fighting to keep one another safe and at times resting at my castle, which became our home.  Jarod had found his way back into my life as well.  A shocking reunion brought him back to me…One night as I went back to the place he jumped into the portal I heard an odd sound coming from it’s direction.  When I turned posing myself for a fight I was faced with Jarods body flying through the air and falling directly atop of me pushing me to the ground.  Surprised I scrambled from beneath him to my feet and turned ready to kill.  Quickly the anger that came with being throne passed as I saw it was Jarod.  Instead I ended up on my knees at his side pulling him to sit and staring hoping I wasn’t dreaming. He looked rather worn and as he normally does attempted to tell me he was all right.
